Let’s put a twist on both continue-the-story and song lyrics games both. We’ll write a story, using only song lyrics 
Rules:

Pick a song lyric that would continue the story in a more or less sensical manner

Use up to 2 full lines of a song’s lyrics, but you can use partial lines too. You can leave off the beginning or end of the line if it suits your needs better.

Attribute the song, but skip lines to do so, so it will be less distracting for players after you.

If there are at least 4 posts between, you can use the same band/artist as another poster, but not lyrics from the same song.
Example of a game:
first poster: My mama told me…
“shop around” Smokey Robinson and the Miracles
second poster: things get damaged, things get broken, I thought we’d manage but…
“precious” depeche mode
third poster: You’re breaking the girl.
“breaking the girl” RHCP
