Just reinforce your position on the GGwaG. At Umpqua Community College, there was a confab of ammosexuals in a classroom, plenty well-armed, who saw the shooter and coulda done flattened him easy-peasy but retreated back into the classroom because they did not want the fuzz to think it was them. There are numerous instances of the GGwaG not saving the day. Uvalde, Buffalo (the security guard died), etc. The BGwaG almost always wins because we all tend to start from a benefit-of-the-doubt position right up to when part of Hell starts to break loose.
because they are concerned for the safety of people who might get too close to violent encounters (as in, close enough to see what is actually happening)
It also targets filming during traffic stops, which is where a lot of profiling followed by deadly escalation begins.
actually,
meaning, it would seem, that filming during the stop, if you are the suspect or whatever, will be allowed – though, what happens to the recording device after you have been outfitted with 5 dozen rounds, is probably at the discretion of the Fuzz
I am shocked. Not that he feels that way, but that he is stupid enough to spread it around in public. But he hill probably be reelected in a walk.
End. Qualified. Immunity.
Yes. The sooner the better.
We had to kill the civilians to save the civilians.
Well this happened back in the 1990s, but an interesting note about the new Boston Police head–and he was a police officer then too:
"Cox detailed the events leading to the beating 27 years ago in a 2020 interview.
While serving as an undercover officer in the Boston police gang unit and chasing a shooting suspect on foot, officers arriving at the scene mistook Cox for the suspect. They kicked and punched Cox, leaving him with head and kidney injuries, he said in the WBZ-TV interview.
Despite what Cox viewed as the police department’s attempt to cover up the incident, he said he was undeterred in pursuing his law enforcement career."
It probably belongs in the Uvalde shooting thread, but that cop cowering behind the cinder block wall while children were being murdered checking his mobile phone with the Punisher logo lock screen has to be the most cop thing ever.
According to something I saw, I think we should withhold judgement on that cop. Apparently, his wife was one of the victims and she had texted him that she was injured/dying. He tried to go in and was removed from the premises and disarmed. I’ll see if I can find a cite.
ETA: NY Post article:
“To those who haven’t bothered to read even the news that’s been reported in your rush to judgment, he attempted to engage but was removed from the building and disarmed. We’ll have much to say about the police response, but no criticism of this officer,” Moody concluded.
A Louisiana woman got a ticket for indecent exposure. She was wearing a crop top and shorts. The ticket was issued by three cops who “declined” to turn on their police body cameras. The ticket was ordered to be issued by a police Lieutenant who is the husband of one of the cops involved. The woman and her lawyer met with the police chief and the mayor, and the ticket was rescinded. They probably realized they would have gotten their pants sued off if she pushed it.
Quoting from the comments section because I read the earlier article but I don’t know where it is now. The chief is being presented as some kind of hero for apologizing and making is right but he still lied about who originally complained.
How is complying with baseless citizen complaints “acting properly”? The police are there to enforce the law, not the will of the mob.
And the citizen who complained was a police lieutenant and husband of one of the officers who wrote the ticket.
For the first time, a federal judge has ruled that police and the city are liable for destruction of private property when they go after a criminal that broke into the innocent civilians’ house.
About frickin’ time!
Wonder what the SCOTUS is going to have to say about that.
After the police and their unions whine and complain that they can’t do their jobs if they are held accountable for the damage that they do to innocent people’s property, it’s going to become one more wedge issue for the party of “Law and Order” to beat on against the party of “Defund the Police.”
Officer parks his car in ER apron; Ambulance arrives, EMT is unable to avoid bumping the police car while unloading the gurney. Officer wants to settle this injury to his vehicle right here, right now. EMT has other priorities.
Officer now on desk duty while his dickishness is under investigation.
Anchorage cops apparently believe in MAGAt immunity.
