Controversial encounters between law-enforcement and civilians - the omnibus thread #2

This is too many kinds of fucked up. At one point, one of the [redacted] told Nazario that he was going to “ride the lightning” if he did not coöperate.

Looks like it is not water-tight, but nonetheless a positive move.

The officers were not “willing or able to articulate why they had initiated the traffic stop,” according to the lawsuit.

Because he was pulled over for being black in a too nice of a car. They had no real cause to believe a crime had even been committed.

Here’s the YT video for it.

It’s very troubling. Those cops shouldn’t be cops.

“Both hands out the window!”
“Open the door!”
Conflicting orders, from the SAME cop. Somebody needs to actually be trained.

And if he tried to unlock and open the door from the inside, they would shoot him and claim he was “reaching for something.”

“Well, which is it, young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if I freeze, I can’t rightly drop. And if I drop, I’m gonna be in motion.”

(From the film Raising Arizona)

The ground is mighty cold.

Straight out of the manual.

I wonder if police habitually bring along a second (untraced) gun along, so they can drop it beside a person they’ve just shot…

Or is this just something that one sees on TV shows?

I doubt that the majority of police do so.

But I even more strongly doubt that none do.

Why? They can just drop their taser.

Apparently the head of the Boston Patrolmans Union is an utter piece of work who was known by IA to be a child molester (oh, his first victim recanted, apparently under duress) but he kept his badge, union leadership position, and even testified in a different child molestation case.

This story is some massive ugly.

This is a very good example of why you should be afraid of the cops if you are black. They cannot articulate why they pull them over, but by god, we better get our guns out and start acting like this individual is a criminal that deserves this. Oh, and by the way, we now realize you didn’t do anything wrong so go on your way.

WHAT THE FUCK!!! These two assholes better get fired and he better cash in on the lawsuit.

If they want the public to start respecting law enforcement, quit acting like power-hungry fucking idiots.

One of the cops involved in the Lieutenant Nazario incident has been fired.

Minnesota again:

Texas, altho it involves the federal government:

Imagine if you got a job with the federal government and they told you “We’re sending you to Texas.” I know that would probably put me in a perpetual snit.

The story, though, is about Civil Asset Forfeiture, which we have been over once or twice. You may be innocent until proven guilty, but your stuff is always guilty of something or the other unless you can prove otherwise.

Or worse. We don’t have to imagine, tho. Here’s a first-hand account from a lady who was hired as a diplomat stationed in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico:

The officer who shot Wright has stated that he meant to pull out his taser, not his handgun. Whoopsie!
