What time is it? … no, not “Tool Time” … It’s time for a Cookie Poll! Simply state your favorite type of cookie (and/or any other cookie-eating preferences), and why.
Personally, I’m an old-fashioned chocolate chip man m’self. The bigger and chewier, the better. I’ve stuck with this as my favorite because I love chocolate, and this is the easiest way to get it in cookie form. Crunchy cookies just make me thirsty. Mind you, I won’t say no to most other types of cookies, except really crunchy ones.
Homemade oatmeal raisin. Crunchy around the edges, chewy in the middle, with a big glass of cold milk. Cinnamon, vanilla, oats and raisins taste sooo good together.
I have a hard time choosing between chocolate chip cookies with pecans and snickerdoodles. It would seem like a no-brainer with the ccw/p, but there’s just something about cinnamon…nope, can’t call it. Just have to make both !
I just had to go out and buy a box of vanilla wafers - that’s 'Nilla wafers, in fact. I got this new pup dog that just happens to be the color of a vanilla wafer. All golden brown on the outside, and when you lift her fur, buttery white underneath. Just like a - vanilla wafer. It was driving me crazy. Ate a half box just like that.
1st place: Chewy Chocolate Chip served with ice cold milk
2nd: Sugar with orange oil in the dough. With a nice cuppa tea. YUM
3rd: Those little store bought lemon cookies covered in powdered sugar. With tea.
Iced sugar cookies (Lofthouse brand) have edged out chocolate chip as my absolute faves. Cookies are the perfect junk food. Full of sugar and a fork isn’t required.
Butter Cookies or, as I like to call them, those cookies with the jelly in the middle.
Yep, that’s my favorite. But I’ve gotta say those new break and bake tollhouse sugar cookies are pretty damned good too.

Soft, chewy, homemade molasses cookies are the best. I learned to bake just for these things.
As far as storebought cookies go, it’s Oreo’s all the way. And dipping in milk is required.
Imbrium, does your recipe call for vinegar? When I made the molasses cookies for the pastry shop, smell from the comination of spices and vinegar reminded me of barbeque sauce. BBQ Cookies!
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip that you buy in bulk at the Loblaws grocery store chain. I believe that the brand is McCormick but I’m not sure. They are nice and crunch.
It’s so hard to choose just one, but my favorite is the Pecan Pie Cookies at Whole Foods. I wish I had a recipe for cookies like these–they’re so nutty and chewy, and oh, so good. Close second is warm, chewy chocolate chip cookies, or maybe peanut butter chocolate chip, or ginger cookies. . .
The macaroons my great aunt used to make around Christmas, they had chocolate on the bottoms.
Home made chocolate chip cookies, preferably still warm…mmmm…drool
Gingerbread cookies and gingersnaps
I miss having an oven to bake. That’s one reason I don’t want to live in the dorms anymore.
My grandma used to make chocolate chip cookies with walnuts that were wafer-thin and very crispy along the edges, but slightly chewy in the centers. I used to make them with her, and I inherited her recipe along with all her advice. And mine NEVER come out the way hers did. So I don’t even like chocolate chip cookies anymore, because they’re never as good as Grandma’s.
Pick a favorite cookie? You may as well ask a parent to pick their favorite child.
Homemade is best.
Fresh from the oven chocolate chip, chewy in the middle. This is one of the few times I will drink milk, because you have to dunk them in milk. The cookie dough logs that you cut and bake yourself will qualify as homemade because you can still have them fresh from the oven. I am not crazy about store bought choc chips that are hard and crunchy.
Oatmeal, sans raisins. Raisins shall not touch my oatmeal cookies. I can tolerate date pieces but no raisins. Of course, fresh, warm and chewy from the oven is best as long as there are no raisins in it. Did I mention that I don’t like raisins? NO RAISINS!
