Who was the coolest (or hottest!) jungle girl ever? Jennifer O’Dell as Veronica of the Plateau in the TV series “Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World” is my top choice!
Oh, golly. If Xena counts as a jungle girl, then it would have to be Xena.
If not then I’m with you.
I’m partial to Leela, myself.
Tara from “The Warlord.” Her outfit just filled my dreams. And she was a Queen to boot. But then there was Maria. Boy is she ever a close second. Well she’s a firery redheaded Russian so you know and ooh, the clothes she war. Well just about any woman in that comic book. I mean look how dirty Shakira’s clothes were.
Damn I miss that book. If only Grell kept control, even if he only did it bi or even tri-monthly.
Oh, I loved that comic book (referring to “Warlord”)! Some of the sexiest women ever to grace comicdom appeared in those pages! I have maybe two-thirds to three-fourths the entire run of the series in my collection-- I will have to dig them out and take another look at them, purely for research purposes, of course!
Grell’s just a damn good artist. I finally completed my collection a few years ago although now I see that the Teen Titans went to Skartaris as did Aquaman and Justice League thing. I hope more happens then in his appearance in The Green Arrow.
Having never encountered her before stumbling across her listing, I find myself strangely captivated by Fantomah, Mystery Woman of the Jungle.
Betty Page in any jungle girl getup
Sheena. Ain’t no one else close. Unless you count Jill of the Jungle.
Or Electric Company’s Jennifer of the Jungle with her sidekick Paul the Gorilla
(which I’m sure is a joke but I still don’t get it unless it’s that Paul is a pretty unlikely name for a gorilla, but then again, gorilla names are pretty unlikely to begin with considering they don’t exactly talk much)
Adrienne Bimbo… I mean Barbeau’s character in Cannibal Women int he Avacodo Jungle of Death.
Around 1972 or 1973, Marvel Comics introduced Shanna the She-Devil-- her comic book only lasted about five issues, but she subsequently guest-starred in many other Marvel series such as Daredevil and Ka-Zar. I had just hit puberty when her series first came out, and she definitely laft a lasting impression on my demented psyche! Does any one else remember her?
Maria Montez in Cobra Woman.
“Geef me dot Cobra Jool!”
