Which comic book characters would end up in People's Most Beautiful issue?

Most superheroes and heroines are drawn to be fairly attractive people, of course. But I’m wondering which comic characters are considered to be exceptionally attractive by the standards of their fictional universe. Who’s going to end up in the 50 Most Beautiful issue of People on Earth-616 or whatever DC’s Earth is called these days?

Are Marvel boys putting up posters of Mary Jane Watson-Parker? Bruce Wayne: rich and a studmuffin? Are Betty and Veronica actually the sexiest girls in Riverdale? Is Power Girl considered exceptionally attractive, or just exceptionally well-endowed?

Note: I’m not looking for who you (generic you) consider the sexiest hero/heroine. I want to know the equivalents of Brad Pitt or Scarlett Johansson – people widely acknowledged to be hot, hot, hot.

One character, Looker, was a member of the Outsiders. She was a model and part of her “power” was that she was jaw-droppingly beautiful, which distracted men. Strangely, she was drawn is a particularly unattractive way.

IIRC, Mary Jane Watson was a very successful supermodel in the Marvel Universe.

The Avenger Starfox was supposedly attractive, but it was hard to tell because his power could make people attracted to him.

Some of the comments made by the Flash, Blue Beatle, Booster Gold, and others, makes me think Wonder Woman is extremely attractive. Also Fire.

Jean Grey had every male in the school drooling over her in the early issues of the X-Men, including the Prof. (ick, glad they dropped that story line.)

There were a few issues of the X-men in the early 90’s where Callisto, of all people, was transformed by Masque into a drop dead gorgeous supermodel.

Dazzler was, supposedly a real looker, which helped her music/acting career. And Psylocke in her Revanche body was supposed to be quite attractive.

Then, every once in a while, there is the obligatory X-men, Avengers, JLA, etc scene where they are in public in a bar or something, and get hit on frequently.

Storm? Both gorgeous and married to a Prince of Wakandia?
People.
Wasp? Ex-fashion model, Avenger, heiress, her own clothes/perfume/accesories lines?
People.
She-Hulk? Gorgeous, muscular, athletic, great figure.

Well, we gotta draw the line somewhere!

Power Girl.

Black Canary.

Wonderwoman.

I don’t have 50 so I’ll do 10/10 Female/male and not limit it to any particular Universe:

What, no Mystique?

Nightcrawler and Nocturne could appear as a more “exotic” pair (Not together, though. Ew.) Plus they’re both supposed to be pretty attractive anyway.

Both Supergirl and Power Girl, though SG is more like the general body type modelling-wise. Nightwing and Superboy likewise.

The She-Dragon, from Savage Dragon, is in the running against She Hulk, in the same way that Jayne Mansfield was in the running against Marylin Monroe.

Mary-Jane Watson, definitely, at least at one point in her life. I’m not sure where her career is now, but she used to be a model and was fairly famous. On the other hand, she and Peter never reached the point of being fabulously rich, and she still has to audition for parts rather than having her people set up the deal, so I’m not sure how famous she is.

The non-masked heroes are all a lock, with the (possible) exception of the Martian Manhunter. Even the Beast, at one point, was thought sexy by the general public; he got a LOT of play when he was an Avenger and used to take Wonder Man out to give him advice on picking up women.

Anyway–non-masked DC heroes like Superman & Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Sue & Johnny Storm, would make it. Likewise T’Challa; he wears a mask but doesn’t have a secret identity, and I’m sure there are thousands of pictures of him unmasked at corporate meetings, diplomatic functions, etc.

None of the BatCan; they’re all too secretive.

And I’m out.

Just to clarify: the People thing was mostly a metaphor. I’m really wondering which superheros and major comics characters are considered exceptionally attractive by many other people in their universe.

So the other elements of People candidacy – fame, current popularity, etc. – are interesting, but ultimately tangential to my question. And the people you consider attractive is also a different question. (I mean, Zatanna would be near the top of my list, but I don’t get the sense she’s considered exceptionally attractive by other DC dwellers.)

This is my fault for getting all metaphorical with my thread title, of course.

Was Gwen Stacy, by the way, supposed to be more attractive than MJ? On par? Even more beautiful?

Jessica Rabbit would probably make the cut… or have an “E! True Hollywood Stories” expose about her.

I imagine Wonder Woman and She-Hulk are more debatable in terms of hotness in their respected 'verses. But ladies like Jean Grey, Mary Jane and Supergirl are more accepted as pretty hot.

I think characters like Black Canary, Sue Storm and Wasp are thought of as milfs.

About Gwen and MJ… I always thought that Gwen would have been high school hot while MJ was just gorgeous regadless. Like Gwen would have peaked lookswise at 17 but then just ended up being really pretty for the rest of her life.

She’s not bad. She’s just drawn that way.

Emma Frost is always portrayed as being beautiful.
Elektra, too, for her exotic beauty.

Nightwing (AKA Dick Grayson, the first Robin) is apparently way hot - based both on his ability to score with almost every female he meets (and every male if you believe certain fans cough), and the fact his most recent girlfriend (a fashion designer) tapped him as a model (ironically for a line based on his costume).

Speaking of Nightwing and his parade of girlfriends: Starfire tends to turn heads (although her always skimpy clothing and casual attitudes towards nudity probably helps).

Fire is another former model.

Vixen is also a model.

Wonder Woman is supposed to be a major beauty.

Isn’t one of Mary Marvel’s powers from Shazam explicitly “Beauty” – from Selene or Aurora, maybe?

If your superpower includes beauty, I’m thinking you’d make the Most Beautiful People issue.

A few that haven’t been mentioned:
Ms Marvel
Omaha
Susan Storm (Ultimate version - definitely not a MILF)
Ultra
Maureen Vonnegut
Julie Winters
Zantanna

For my “nuclear land mine” nomination (i.e., “devastating, but completely left-field”), I’ll say SHIELD-agent Daisy Johnson, for a reason that is readily obvious.

All right, after that…

•The Baroness, from G.I. Joe, technically is a comic character…
Ultimate Mary-Jane, oddly enough, looks pretty good in my book.
•May “Mayday” Parker, aka Spider-Girl, is another Dark Horse, I’d say.
•…ditto for “Stem Cell” from Livewires.
•What, no love for Cassandra Cain and Barbara Gordon?

What can I say? I guess I just have a soft spot for nerdy, and/or ruthlessly violent shadow-op girls.

Adam and Julia Kadmon, the married monster-fighting couple at the center of Vertigo’s Midnight, Mass, are so widely acknowledged as beautiful that according to canon they’ve even appeared in People magazine.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned ‘Psylocke’ yet. After she got the Asian body, that is.

And Rogue is a lock for appearing in like a ‘Southern Belle’ issue of Playboy or Maxiom.

mentioned in the second post sir.
