The original story, as related by common good, involved a police cruiser spotlight, turned on unexpectedly after the cruiser rolled up with its headlights off.
The articles definitely exist. Plug “Teens lucky to be alive after police fire 25 times” into Google and it will return a link to Omaha.com with a byline of 2012.
Right, but that was behind. The point of contention is in front with the officer who ended up on their hood.
How stupid do you have to be to try and block a CAR with your frail human body?
Oh yeah, Cop stupid.
The point of contention was this:
I’m honestly not sure if you’re making a point here, or just being contrary for the sake of being contrary.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
The point is that cg is guilty of leaving off relevant details, making it appear that they fled simply because of who was behind their car when there was also someone in front. Where there should not have been any spotlight. It’s night and near a lake so the only light in front should have been from the headlights of the girls’ car, which would have illumiated the uniformed officer.
Given the track record of whom we’re dealing with, I’m guessing that the officer in front either approached while the car was stopped or just started moving. Standing in front of a car that’s travelling at speed is just plain nuts.
I think this is something upon which we can all resoundingly agree.
Wait. You’re saying it’s okay to intentionally drive over a cop if;
a. you’re a young girl,
b. you get caught smoking pot,
c. a cop has a gun drawn ans is
d. standing in front of your car?
Wow, you got it! That’s precisely what he was saying!
:roll…wait for it…eyes:
You know who else thought those categories were mutually exclusive?
No, seriously, he did.
No, he is saying he has zero sympathy–a comparable lack of sympathy is currently being shown to the gun instructor who was killed by the 9 year old girl with the Uzi.
Everyone seems to Ass-suming that the young lady drove straight ahead and the cop was directly in front of the car.
Cite?
It it probably more likely the cop was off to one side in front of the car and when the young lady peeled out she cranked the wheel over which put the officer in harm’s way and made her a Darwin candidate.
Perhaps some people in this thread need to watch and take notes - YouTube
No sympathy means just that. Use a dictionary if you need to.
If I was the DA in that town, I would seek an indictment against every cop there for firing at an unknown target.
Fortunately, that will never happen. ![]()
Perhaps you should expand your inventory of reading material to include a law book or two.
No. If you were a competent DA in that–or any other–jurisdiction, then you would be well aware that a vehicle intentionally driven at a person, even if said person is a law enforcement officer, is a deadly weapon. Surely, a competent DA would not be unaware that assault with a deadly weapon is a criminal offense.
But, hey, why let facts get in the way of your tirade.
Prove intentional.
Right there you prove you would be an incompetent DA.
