-because we really can’t have too many of them. It’s such a vital issue - one that needs to be discussed over and over. Frankly, I’m losing a lot of sleep at night just pondering the myriad facets of this complex issue. And please, if you feel like whining at people for not subscribing, I encourage you to start a NEW thread. Why post in an already-existing thread, when you can start a new one? We all care so very, very much. We really, really want to hear from each and every person who has a bug up his ass about non-subcribers.
You know, blowero, you’re absolutely right. We DO need more threads bitching about people who don’t want to subscribe. And clearly, you know we need more threads bitching about people bitching about people who don’t want to subscribe. And we could also use a few more threads bitching about people who bitch about people bitching about people who don’t want to subscribe. I’d also like to see some more threads bitching about people who want to subscribe, but don’t want to use their credit cards on the internet. That would also lead to a wonderful subset of threads bitching about people bitching about people who want to subscribe, but don’t want to use their credit cards over the internet, and threads bitching about people who bitch about people bitching about people who want to subscribe, but don’t want to use their credit cards over the internet. Then we could have more threads about who’s definitely staying, who’s definitely leaving, who’s not sure about staying, who’s not sure about leaving, who thinks they maybe might want to stay but aren’t sure, who definitely thinks they might leave but are having second thoughts, and then that would open up the door for threads bitching about people who are waffling on the decision to stay or leave, and threads bitching about people who bitch about people who are waffling on the decision to stay or leave…
I figure when all is said and done and all the bases are covered, every forum will be completely filled with nothing but threads discussing the SDMB subscriptions, and everyone will get sick of it and end up leaving and the board will die and everyone will be happy. I know I will.
First they came for the “Hi Opal’s”, and I didn’t speak up because I rarely use lists. Then they came to stop the proliferation of retro Death Rays, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t carrying. Then they came to keep us from burning they dogs, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a suspect. Now they come to prosecute subscription related musings and all I can do is laugh, because I know what will happen. I think Donald Rumsfield said it best:

Off to start a thread bitching about the people the people who don’t even care enough about subscriptions one way or the other to start threads bitching about one thing or the other. I pit the subscriptionally apathetic!
Screw the hamsters. Their little asses are getting paid now. Hell, I heard a rumor they made so much money off of our subscriptions that they’ve outsourced the wheel running offshore!
