Counting Crows & Goo Goo Dolls in Concert...

…accurately describes my own personal hell.

You?

I considered getting tickets for a DC area show (decided not to because my money’s a bit tied up elsewhere at the present). Counting Crows have been one of my favorite bands since their first (and best) album. Goo Goo Dolls weren’t a sell either way; pretty benign second headliner, but I have nothing against them.

I don’t really see the purpose of this thread. You don’t like either band, and moreso that they’re touring together? Okay, don’t go. Making a thread to say you don’t like two bands is just begging for a dogpile from rabid fans and/or dissenters. The thread is going to inspire two types of comment: 1) “Right on! Those bands suck!” (pointless) and 2) “Lay off, I enjoy those bands; and I’m sure your favorite music is reviled by somebody else.” (equally pointless).

Whoopteedoo.

Wow, can I live in your hell? I saw the Counting Crows with Live several years ago and they were awesome. Sorry you don’t like them but you are missing out.

I understand the Dave Matthews Band is touring. I also understand you’d have to pay me well into three digits to sit through a couple hours of that guy’s voice.
And ftr, Goo Goo Dolls used to put on a hell of a show back before they became the official Bad Movie Soundtrack Band. Man, I miss the real GGD.

I saw the Counting Crows and Goo Goo Dolls last month. The Goo Goo Dolls were fantastic, but the Counting Crows were a huge disappointment - especially considering that they’ve been one of my favorite bands for years and I was really looking forward to seeing them live. Adam was acting rather stoned (probably was), and kept fucking up the lyrics. It didn’t help that I was surrounded by a bunch of screeching girls.

Nyeh, I basically blame the Goo Goo Dolls for the death of Modern Rock in the 90s. Bland, uninspired dreck masquerading as Gen X punditry. We’d have been better off listening to nothing than them. (‘Silence! The original alternative to music!’)

I’ve seen Counting Crows twice, both in clubs. Not so bad in an intimate setting but I can imagine they’d have trouble connecting those songs with the audience in a larger venue.

Can you somehow fit Bloatie and Whofish in there?
