I am a fan of August and Everything After, and I bought Hard Candy last year, and quite enjoy that.
Counting Crows are coming to Australia shortly for the first time, and I wondered if it is worth seeing them live on 1 March? Has anyone else caught them, and is it worth the $40 or so that it will cost?
I am also seeing the Three Bens (Ben Folds, Ben Lee and Ben Kweller) in March, which should be a great concert.
They’re my favorite band, so I’m a bit biased, but I watched them play a few years ago in Austin and they put on a pretty neat show. They alter a lot of their songs when they play live, so you’ll get to hear a new version of some of the older ones. Something of a treat for the fans, and I imagine it keeps them from getting bored playing the same songs all the time. I’d say give it a go, if you like their CD’s I don’t think you’ll be dissapointed.
They were my favourite band a number of years ago but i went to see them in 2000 and they were shit. They didn’t play any of my favourite songs. There was too much bombast in all the songs, no nice solo/acoustic stuff just 3 guys playing guitars in every single song. Also there was a bit where Adam Duritz sat there and talked to the crowd. This was condescending and excruciating!!! Twas a pity but i don’t recommend them after that.
