I was passing thru CMT today on my way to CC and stopped on this one video with this dude really tearing shit up on his guitar. I didn’t get a good look at the name but this is what I know about the song and video:
The lead singer/guitar player played a tele in the video.
The video is set in a half torn apart house. There was some dude in a dress dancing around and flashing his ass.
I think the name may be Ranch or something or other.
I only caught a nimute or so of it, but it was all instrumental, no lyrics when I was watching.
The guys are all dress like the goo goo dolls or something.
The lead was really owning his guitar. He was getting silly with it.
Kinda rockabilly sound to it.
Ok, who is this group? Are they a respected country group or are they like Shania? That dude sure was playing the hell out of that tele.
Cross dressing rockabilly?

FTR, CMT sometimes plays things that never seem to make it to Country Radio.
I have yet to catch this performance. If I find anything on my music sites, I’l post.
I’ve been watching a lot of CMT lately, and that’s not ringing a bell.
Groups dressed up like the Goo Goo Dolls make me think of what I call the “boy bands of country” - Emerson Drive, Rascall Flatts. But none of the videos I’ve seen by them involve cross dressing.
Curious.
Crossdressing in country is probably one of the “comedy” acts like Cledus T. Judd.
I’m not familiar with the particular video you’re referring to, but the combination of ‘Ranch’ and ‘tearing shit up on his guitar’ makes me think immediately of an Australian musician Keith Urban, former lead singer for a band called ‘The Ranch’, now with a solo career.
yeah, I thought of Keith Urban too.
Well. Both Keith Urban videos in heavy rotation don’t have anything to do with crossdressing. Trust me. I’ve watched. Closely. 
Cledus T. Judd - hadn’t thought of him, but it’s a definite possibility!
Is there a girl in the video? And are they facing the wall with their backs to a bunch of people?
Keith Urban gave a free concert here (OKC) at our state fair 2 yrs ago.

That boy can play! He did a few Eagles covers, some of his own stuff, and some classic country. Quite a show. Excellent musician.
I had just left the Martina McBride concert, which we had to purchase tickets for, and the radio station said Keith would be at the outside stage at 8:00 ish. He was a little late, but he played for quite a long time.
I haven’t seen any video other than that “Grace of God” one. No cross dressing in it.
I wasn’t thinking it was a Keith Urban video, scout, so much as that it was one of the videos from The Ranch. A little more research on The Ranch indicates that they released two videos, one of which was for the song Clutterbilly, which was an instrumental. That would seem to fit the bill. I’ve tried to find a music sales site with a sample of the song, but haven’t been successful.
With Keith’s current singles being quite popular it seems not unlikely that CMT might dredge up the stuff from The Ranch as a recurrent. I tried a quick run through CMT’s daily playlist http://www.cmt.com/cmt/tv/ but it only includes today’s list.
Possibly “Bearing Straight” by Bering Strait? It’s an instrumental, and it’s in rather heavy rotation. I’ve only ever seen the last 30 seconds of it, though. You can see a clip from it here at VH1’s website if you click the link near the top of the page. It’s slow to load for me, though - I have a snaillish connection.

The bass player was blad and tall.
The lead singer guy was young, 20’s, and had shoulder length hair.
I never ever listen to country and this little ditty is eating away at me.
Someone must know.
I know either the name of the song had Ranch in it, or the name of the band had Ranch in it.

We have a winner folks! Clutterbilly. I remember seeing that name on the screen at the end too but I couldn’t remember it.
Clutterbilly is the name of the song.
The band is “The Ranch” . I thought the song had Ranch in it.
And it is Keith Urban as many others have mentioned! I am a country dullard so forgive me for not realizing at the time.
Anyway, for those who don’t like country you should check out this song because this dude is fricking amazing! I may check out the whole album if I get the chance jsut to see how silly he gets.
