Court TV's Nancy Grace

Hey Y’all! I haven’t posted in a while, so please forgive me if this topic has been brought up before, okay?

While I like to watch Court TV, I try to avoid when she is on. Yes, I know she “draws” the audience, but the way she relates to some of her guests makes me cringe in embarrassment for them. It’s like she’s still prosecuting and IMHO has no “grace” (NPI) in questioning her guests.

Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something very mean-spirited in those eyes, and her use of the word “friend” just doesn’t work with me. I would not like to be her “Significant Other”, if she even has one…

Diane Dimond and Savannah Guthrie however, save the whole channel from being deleted off my remote.

As I said, just my opinion, but I would like to read yours.

Thanks!

Quasi

Yep, I hated her from the time I first saw her on Larry King several years back, and I still hate her now. She’s a shrew, condescending, presuptuous b… checks forum person. I can’t remember the specific case exactly, but there was a high-profile murder about three or four years back, and her and Geragos would go at it on Larry King Live on CNN. Geragos was actually fun to watch, because he never seemed to take Nancy too seriously. Her arguments were always more based on emotion and hunches, and that’s what seriously pissed me off about her. In this particular case, she was all but ready to flip the switch on the prime suspect in the murder case. She was so confident and cocksure the suspect was guilty, and labeled anyone who gave him the benefit of a doubt as a naive fool.

Well, guess what? Turned out the guy didn’t do it in fact. They found another guy who did it (I can’t remember if he confessed or what.) But did Nancy apologize for publicly roasting the guy and playing judge, jury, and executioner on national TV? Of course not. She made some pathetic excuse like “well, with the evidence we had, it sure as hell seemed like he was guilty. Who would expect an innocent man to act like that?” Some people just never learn.

I wish I could remember the case. I think it was something in Texas. Perhaps one of our Dopers may recall it.

I found it. Scroll down to "He’s had his fill of Grace.

Oh, sorry. Last post and I’ll shut up. But if you follow the link in the last story that goes to the Daily Howler article, you really get to see Nancy’s true colors. This is my favorite excerpt:

A real piece of work, that woman.

I’ve seen her on CNN a few times, and I just loathe her attitude and shamelessness.

If it makes you feel any better, the Eleventh Circuit doesn’t like her much either.

She’s pretty damn annoying, but then I only watch CourtTV for Forensic Files. But I get really annoyed when I want my biased, sensational news in a nutshell on Headline News and she’s on it instead. Nice move, CNN, now I hate channel 204!

Glad to hear my knee-jerk reaction is accurate. I’ve never seen Court TV, but her commercials on CNN never fail to get a reaction in the singular household. We hate her intensely just from that commercial! It’s good to know I can still sense a bitch…

I believe she all but convicted the Runaway Bride’s fiance of murdering her and hiding the body in a swamp before it all turned out to be a case of cold feet. During the coverage she swore up and down that she’d handled “hundreds” of these cases and this was NO “runaway bride!”

Yep:

Unforunately, reasoned discourse doesn’t get any ratings.

We can’t really be sure of that until somebody tries it. I hope that version of reasoned discourse involves beating Nancy Grace’s brains in with a shovel.

I liked her at first, because all I watched was her coverage of the Michael Jackson case. And I still LOVE her comments on PedoPan himself.

But I can’t stand her. She always has this look on her face like she just walked into Jabba the Hutt’s outhouse.
