COVID limericks

I’ve been inspired by the COVID haiku thread.

I’ll start.

The virus will give you pneumonia
But dies when exposed to ammonia.
Don’t drink disinfectant
Or you’ll be expectant
Of pushing up lots of begonias.

In Wuhan, a city once booming,
The disease jumped from just bats to human
We could search there all year
And find nothing, I fear
It would take too much effort exhuming.

The Covid 19, as you know,
Started out in China, kind of slow
But it reached its potential
With spread exponential
Herd immunity’s a no-show!

Trump said cases will shrink down to zero
He thought he was a pandemic hero
While he played the golf green
The virus was seen
to prove Trump more like the emperor Nero

Our grocery stores are all breadless.
Our government seems to be headless.
But all that we ask
Is you make your own mask
From old T-shirts you once bought from Threadless.
