CPR class; a smackabout MMP

Home from the dentist - it took 10 whole minutes!

Off to do kitchen chores. Good times…

I trust your teefies are all in tiptop shape MOOOOOOM.

Howdy from irk. Postin’ just cause. Guess I should get back to irk though.

Le Sigh.

I hacked up a poke loin into 8 chops (which are now being frozen in pairs) and a small roast which will be supper. I also packaged some tuna steaks for the freezer (I’ve got one of those suck-the-air-out-of-the-bag thingies) and I boiled a dozen eggs. **FCD **mowed the ditch and now he’s rearranging rocks in the aquarium, much to the consternation of the inhabitants.

I’m thinking Bad Chinese might be a good idea for lunch - quick and cheap - like my men.

Guess this is what retirement will be like.

A four day weekend, next; I’ll be smoking once more. Anyone got suggestions for what I should do?

I’m leaning towards chikkies and sausage as my victims, having done a poke loin and fauxstrami last time, but I’s negotiable.
I also think smoked rabbit will not work.

Doesn’t sound to bad if that is retirement fcm

Right off to do paperwork, then head to my new office to get my card activated to access the building, pick up a file my predessesor (no way that is spelt correctly!), then head to the airport to fly home. Yay!

(Spell check says Predecessor …that does not look right either???)

How you doin’?

I doubt I could handle retahrment. I couldn’t stand 24/7 nagging from VWife, and I’d just get fatter and crankier.

But you could bide your time by making me a batch of snickerdoodles. Just sayin’.

BBBobbio, darlin’, if I don’t make snickerdoodles for my sweetie, what makes you think I’d whip up a batch for you??

Speaking of whom, when he drags himself out of the shower, we’re heading into Leonardtown for some Bad Chinese! Then I’ll come home and knit in front of the TV. THAT’S more of a retirement preview!

Well, you’re the only lady I know who likes quick then. How ya doin’?

Yeah, but if he’s quick, I don’t have to keep asking “Are you done yet??”

Or as I’m fond of sayin’ to OYKW, “Let’s go to the Chinese buffet, it’s cheap and easy just like you!” That is unless he says it first to me. Yeah, we’re just a couple of laugh riots, we are!

Havin’ N.O.L. now. Speakin’ of who, where the heck’s he been lately! Anywho a ham 'n cheese sammich and some N.O.T. chips.

Didn’t read much except that you all like cheap and easy men.

Dropped my boy at camp- he’s Jr. Lifeguard this year. He’s so excited to be there! I’ll miss him. Down to just the little girl and me and she leaves in a month! Then it’s just me. :frowning:

Soapy, don’t knock solitude. It can be nice. It’s the ultimate “you” time - look at it that way and maybe it won’t seem so bad.

Back from Bad Chinese. They don’t put the shrimp out for the lunch buffet. Bummer. Still, for $15 for the 2 of us, it’s a deal. Off to knit now!

Incidentally: Soul Breathing???

Read but didn’t retain, I is too knackered for much tonight other than laying on the sofa. We have had monster spreadsheets of exam results to check the last couple of days and by the time I’ve done my sections of it, I am seeing dancing letters and numbers in my sleep.

Since I was away over the weekend and off work on Monday, I have my normal week’s schedule all arse about face, so I find myself curiously with a Thursday night and nothing in particular to do. That definitely calls for some lazing on the sofa, perhaps with a cat for company.

And I can almost see Firday peeking over the horizon!

I got talked into going to [del]The Trough[/del] Golden Corral for lunch.

I be hurtin’…

Where’s that sixty percent chance of rain? :dubious:

Still don’t wanna go to the Bishop thang tonight! Don’t wanna eat over priced mediocre food! I’m still toyin’ with the idea of arrivin’ 30-45 minutes late with profuse apologies and not eat. There was an email from our Senior Warden to remind us all of tonight and that dress is business casual. Dang! I had a muumuu and flipflops all picked out!

Rebo I hear ya. Them [del]hog troughs[/del] all you can eat buffets are killers ain’t they!

MOOOOM, how’s the FoodSaver or other similar device working out for you? What do you mostly use it for? The Roommate bought one, but she’s a vegan, and I think it’s a humongous waste of time and money. We’ve had it a few weeks, let’s see: cherries (for the novelty), butter (my butter, and just for novelty), spinach (possibly worth it) and carrots/celery (didn’t matter, we used them just a couple of days later) are all I can think of that we’ve done. Seems like veggies are silly, since they don’t stick around, but since she dumpsters food for Food Not Bombs every Sunday, I’m hoping there will eventually be a purpose.

(she has even bought both sizes of jar accessories for mason jars.)

Also are you on Ravelry? I haven’t knit in months due to a pair of gloves that went horribly (well, slightly) wrong. They’re about 10% too big, even though I swatched, and I got really frustrated and started reading books in my spare time instead. My username on on Ravelry is the same as here though
::SIREN SIREN SIREN:: Job update: somehow got a callback and favorable phone interview for this teaching gig that works out perfectly with my schedule. Someone else is supposed to contact me to set up details and do a real interview. I don’t know if I’ll be able to look these people in the face and tell them that going to school to be a pharmacy technician is a valid choice in a state that doesn’t require licensing, but if it puts money in my pocket, so be it.

Steaks and corn on the cob for the little girl and me.

c-bear - so far, I’ve just used it for meat, but I can see it saving us a bunch on cheese, too. I buy big blocks and *someone *in the house isn’t good about wrapping it tightly. I figure I’ll just cut a portion off the block and seal the rest. That should lead to less cheese turning into a science experiment. I’m hesitate to try anything too liquid-y or juicy for fear it’ll get sucked out and goop things up. It’d probably be good for pretzels and crackers… maybe.

Supper was good. Now I plan to veg till bedtime. We close on our refi tomorrow at 1. Yay and yay!

C-bear, Moooooooom, we used to have a competing vacuum sealer that we used to process our peecans. It worked great, but the down sides were that it took a long time to package stuff because of required cooling times for the sealer head, and the bags were expensive.

For our purposes, industrial grade Ziplocs were cheaper and much faster. Your mileage will vary.

I use Ziplocs for meat - I just squeeze all the air out that I can. I also use them for individual portions of casserole-type things, and leftover canned stuff like tomato sauce, pasta sauce, chipotles, etc.
