Yeah, we got orders to chart it starting yesterday.
Still and all, there’s decent odds it misses FLA with the powerful stuff and just drops some rain. The next 48 hours will tell the tale.

The latest track has Gamma cutting right across Cuba and missing Florida.
I thinked we dodged a bullet there! Yeesh, if it keeps turning the way it is it might hit Antartica!
Gamma Gamma hey…
Glad to hear it should miss Florida. It’s just going to skirt that area and go off into the Atlantic, then?
You can always use one of those fryers. You can cook and entire turkey in one and it runs on gas. If you don’t have one, let me know and I arrange to meet you and you can take mine.
If you’re going to do that you MUST use peanut oil.
Looks like Cuba dodged a bullet too. What crazy cold/warm front is on top of that thing?
Is it just me, or did the Namers of Storms wimp out by stopping with the letter W? Why the big rush to go to the Greek alphabet? We could have had Zebediah, Zoe, Zorro …
Anyway, thank heavens it looks like it’ll miss us this time around. For the first time, my wife is stating that she’s a little sorry that she moved down to South Florida. It does kind of make you think twice before buying a house though – insurance rates are skyrocketing!
That’s extremely kind of you, but it looks like we won’t have to worry about it now. And as delicious as I hear fried turkey is, my mom is a bit of a health nut and a traditionalist, and she wouldn’t allow it.
We too prefer the traditional oven roasted variety. I just thought that, in a pinch, your family could still celebrate the holiday together if the power failed. I am glad all of our fellow FloriDopers in south Florida are not going to suffer through this again.
The track I’m seeing (from the OP’s link) shows it being 15 degrees south of the southern tip of Florida by Tuesday morning. It’d have to turn straight north to threaten Florida, but it’s apparantly moving very slowly. It seems to me that it could get pretty big and mess up the eastern end of Cuba pretty bad. And then probably go out into the Atlantic and die off.
