One of my classes is based in the idea that we’re supposed to learn how to design and construct a website and do fun stuff with graphics over the course of the semester. To aid us in learning what works and what sucks, our instructor has given us a bunch of links to look at, including Web Pages That Suck. Having nothing better to do today [sub]than laundry and cleaning the house[/sub], I took a gander at some of the top 10 web pages that suck and found the following:
The Creation Museum, Taxidermy Hall of Fame NC and Antique Tool Museum
Boy, is that a strange combination, and their website is even stranger. Has anyone actually been there? Is it as weird and nonsensical as its website?
That is, indeed, a very strange website. It trots out some oldies but goodies, like the Watchmaker argument. I imagine that the owner is just as strange.
I was brave enough to look at the slide show, and I really have to wonder what kind of drugs the creator and web maintainer of this “museum” are on. It’s bizarre, the captions make no sense, and nothing appears to be arranged in a cohesive or logical manner.
“Howdy folks! I’m the one they call the ‘antique tool.’ This here’s Betsy, my scatter gun. I’m here to guide you through the Creation Museum. If’n I don’t think you’re saved in the eyes of the Lord by the time we’re done, I’m a’gonna turn y’all into furniture.”
I suppose that settles it then?
