Creatures of Habit in the MMP

Back, finally. Daughter and I got Roxy’s bed support reinforced - it was a fairly easy evolution. Then she and I took down the dead ceiling fan in her room and with SIL’s help, we got the replacement fan installed (it was one from when she had an apartment in our basement.) FCD and SIL got the circuit breaker panel straightened out, but there are still weird things going on with some outlets. They may end up having to get an electrician to look at it. $$$$

We’re no waiting delivery of Chinese for dinner. They must be busy - they gave us 90 minute delivery time. Dammit. But at least I won’t have to cook. I’s tahred.

We’ll be picking up our dresser tomorrow - it’s just too wet today. So most work is done for tonight.

Howdy Y’all! We have supped and the biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Chillage now resumes.

I’m late in posting because Sunday is Phone Call Day from both my chilluns, plus relatives call, too. I may not get much done on Sundays, but I’m never lonely.

I need to water plants. My ginormous geranium is still blooming. I keep telling it, “It’s fall now and OK so slow down,” but it refuses. I think it has plans for world domination.

Moooom, you must be nearing the end of all the work on both houses now, yes?

doggio, you dust? Be still, my heart. I luuurve dusting. That is, I love dusting furniture. My first household chore as a kid was dusting the cherry wood rocking chair, so maybe that’s why. I also like washing dishes. Cleaning toilets, not so much, though I did plenty when I worked as a hotel maid when I was in college.

Bumba, every time you mention “the big house,” I have to remind myself you’re not talking about prison. I think I’ve seen too many old movies.

All this talk about pilling cats reminds me of pilling my old lab. She hoovered her food with minimal chewing, so I could just throw a pill in there, and she’d snarf it down. Then one day I noticed the edge of the carpet near hear bowl was sticking up and discovered a pile of pills she’d stashed there. I had to switch to hot dogs and distraction.

Sari, no electricity is a giant pain. I hope it gets fixed pronto, and for cheap–or free.

Boo, your house sounds wonderful.

swampy, hope we get to see the video. If not, could you share what you said? Those are great questions, and I’d like to know how you answered them.

I’d watch that!
I may be a durn’ heathen barbarian and all, but … this crusty lil’ ol atheist looks forward to an eventual linky that the unsaved masses like me can watch.

In the meantime, I’m hoping “big rat buyer” goes through, in the sense that … her rats are still here.
Until her transport shows up (we’re in direct contact, but she’s pushing things back) I don’t count it mentally as “done” and won’t transfer her money from PayPal into my bank account - where it will promptly disappear, the wolves have crowded around & are growling and salivating at my door.

I’ve sliced potatoes and parboiled them. The cod is coming up to room temperature. I have Newcastle Brown Ale for the batter. I always have extra batter, so I sliced up an onion. So it looks like fish’n’chips and onion rings for dinner. All I have to do is make the batter and cook.

Nelson isn’t too hard to pill, provided there’s enough cheese around said pill. :stuck_out_tongue:

The pintos were a little saltier than I would normally fix them. It had to be from the smoked neck bones, since I didn’t add any salt. A bowl of beans and a bowl of turnip greens was supper. Not bad.

Evening all. Noonday meal was at Longhorn and this evening I went to Jersey Mike’s for a “Giant” sub, which is enough for this evening and tomorrow’s lunch. Outside of that and watching tackleball, not much else accomplished.

So fed and comfortable and will be turning in early I think. All y’all have a good Sunday night and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.

My boy cat gets daily meds, followed by a bit of “lickable treat”- sort of like gravy in a tube. He loves it and cooperates with pill time in exchange for his treat.

Food-wise. I’m trying. Still don’t wanna. Had some peanuts yesterday and some melon this morning. The melon was good. I feel pretty gross, though. Bloated and sludgy.

No ECT tomorrow. Every other week now. On the agenda for tomorrow is a covid test for next week’s ECT and calling around some more to find a regular therapist/doctor.

That’s the eating disorder part of your brain. Tell it to take a hike. Satiation is not gross.

Good on you! Sending lots of good karma your way.

Thank you, it is. Lots of life has been lived here and it shows. The old girl is well-loved and safe in my hands, although she could use a bit of dusting and Mooooommm’s high intensity painting and refurbishing. The three kitties make a house a home too. They love it for the Zoomies potential. It’s a long straight shot from the living room at the front of the house to the bay window at the far end of the dining room. I call it the Catinapolis 500. Usually occurs every night at 10pm and then sporadically during the night if the cat cabal thinks I’m sleeping too soundly, complete with several of them finding it amusing to thud into my bedroom door, rattling it on the old embellished cast iron hinges. Thud, rattle, rattle, thump.

Ah, yes. Squeezy-crack. My lil ol’ lady Nikki comes hustling out of a sound sleep if she hears me offer, in that sing-songy voice, “Squeeeeeezy crack! Do you want squeeeeezy crack?”

She also learned that catnip is offered with a “South Park” Towelie voice: “Wanna get hiiiiiigh?”
