Criminal captured with Forklift

I admire the employees quick thinking. This guy wasn’t going anywhere until the cops arrived. :grinning:

They raised crime busting to new heights.

“Boy, these things come in handy all the time!”

I’d like to ‘prehumously’ nominate him for a Darwin award. No he didn’t do anything to take himself out of the gene pool…this time but he was attempting to steal (as I originally saw it reported) a car from a junk yard. Ummm, junked cars tend to not run too well. Don’t know if the picture if of the car in question or just an example of one for the photo op but it doesn’t even have front wheels on it; he’s not going far.
Even assuming he was only attempting to steal radios it took more than a fraction of a second for that forklift to come over & raise the car up 20’. While I wouldn’t jump from 20’ it was on the ground when it was raised. Surely he could have jumped from a foot or two up & ran off.

I have no doubt this dumbshit has a future Darwin award in him & I just want to get him on their radar early.

Convenient for the workers that the bad guy didn’t have a pistol amongst his other “criminal tools”.

But I do admire quick thinking and vigilantism that doesn’t involve violence. If I was the Boss they’d all get lunch on me for a week or three.

I saw that on McGyver.

From the news article:

Workers believed the man, later identified as 26-year-old Alexander Funk, was committing his third break-in.

If I was to guess Mr. Funk’s mood about now, I’d say it’s more funk than funky.

At least he was smart enough not to try to jump out of the rising car at too great a height and break something including maybe his skull. So we can say he made one good decision that fateful day. But probably not even two.

He tried to kill me with a forklift
