I mostly enjoy it but sometimes give up when they do the standard ensemble cast show shtick where, during a conversation, each cast member gets one line, and the next one picks up, seamlessly from what the previous one said. This is always done during their exposition to the local cops. Drives me mad, it seems so phony. I think Law and Order invented it.
It does make some sense when they do it when giving the profile. That is a prepared presentation and each member is contributing from thier own area of expertise. It does seem a little odd when they do just sitting around a table talking.
New analyst: “Satanic cults are actually a myth. In reality, there are two types of satanic killer-”
Reid: long, precise breakdown
Analyst: “…yes. Um… that was word for word from my book.”
Hodges: sighs “We know.”
Reid and Rossi were at a crime scene and Reid kept trying to get Rossi to agree to sit and talk about his work, Rossi kept saying, annoyed,“Sounds good.”
Whoever writes his dialog must have a lot of fun with it.
Hodges: How did you know [that extremely obscure and unimportant statistic]?
Reid: shrugs It was in a government report.
Hodges: …and?
Reid: looks perplexed “I’m a government employee. I read its reports.”
Oh, it’s Hotch? Huh, I always heard it as “Hodgner” when they say his name.
Speaking of, was there ever supposed to be anything between Hotch and Garcia (who, by the way, is utterly awesome)? I always assumed they were an item based on their flirtatious phone banter, but he didn’t bat an eye when she started dating Xander.
I think you are confused. Aaron Hotchner (played by Thomas Gibson) is the leader of the BAU.
Derek Morgan (played by Shemar Moore) is the one who has the flirtation going on with Garcia. They talked about their relationship once, and he said because of his baggage (it was revealed he was molested as a child) he couldn’t commit, ot didn’t want to hurt her, or something like that.
Yea, I was definitely confused there: my interest in a character is directly proportional to my capacity to remember their name, and sadly Derek and Hotch are two of the most generic in my mind. When I think of them, it goes Reid, Garcia, JJ, angsty molested guy, angsty divorced guy, bearded guy, and that black-haired woman whose role on the team I still honestly don’t understand.
Then there’s Inigo Montoya, but that was always Gideon’s name. ^^
You can forget Derek?!?!?!? Oh, man, he is smokin’! Of course, I don’t have to remember “Derek Morgan”, because my sister and I just refer to him as ‘Hot Chocolate’!
Oh, I know.
I could watch him tackle the freakin’ phone book and love every second of it! That body, that smile, those eyebrows, those crow’s feet. . .uhhhhh, I’ll be back.
Except for Shemar Moore (Morgan) they’re all on Twitter!
Gubler’s twitter feed (@gublernation) is fun but occasionally very very random, like pictures of finger puppets or his exceedingly adorable fluffy tiny purse-sized (not that he carries a purse) dog.
Kirsten Vangsness (@vangsness) is almost all pictures of hot Garcia fashions and occasional pictures of her hanging out with her awesome TV nerd counterpart friends Pauley Perrette (Abby on NCIS) and Barrett Foa (Eric the computer geek on NCIS LA) which is just hilarious, somehow, that the three of them are buddies. So fitting.
Thomas Gibson’s (@gibsonthomas) twitter is 99% pictures from the set. The other day he did a series of pictures of everyone’s footwear, and his followers were meant to guess the cast member by the feet. (Matthew Gray Gubler never wears matching socks. He’s also still wearing tennis shoes because of his knee injury/surgery, it seems. Paget Brewster’s shoes are hot. Kirsten was wearing pink platform strappy sandals and off-white fishnets over black nylons.)
Now that they’re off the show/more off than on, Paget (@pagetpaget) and A.J. Cook (@ajcookofficial) are tweeting lots of personal stuff, like A.J.'s new hair (the day after she filmed her last scene, she went brunette!) and Paget’s recent veddy veddy interesting notes during a weekend in Vegas with a hot musician dude.
Joe Mantegna’s twitter seems to maybe be handled by his PR 85% of the time. It’s mostly promotional tweets. Kinda boring, but when it’s not, it’s great!
