Criminal Minds Recap to cliff hanger

In this thread We were speculating on what happened to Ellie. In tonight’s preview for the season opener, I noticed Ellie getting CPR, so it appears she does get shot.
I hope they aren’t going to start out with such an unlikely scene as no one thinking that he be pissed about the news conference.

I almost bumped the old thread this morning to repeat that I’m convinced the book the team is looking for is

Le Morte D’Arthur, by Sir Thomas Malory. In addition, I caught last night that Reid’s mother was a professor of 15th Century Lit. I had to check Wikipedia, but Le Morte was indeed written between 1450-1470.

I’d forgotten how much I love this show. It’s amazing what one summer away will do to my memory.

As for Elle …

I can’t decide if the writers will kill her or not. Most of me says no–she’s the token hot chick. They need her. And after only one year, the show hasn’t gotten stale enough for them to need to bring in a new character.

And on an unrelated note, I hope Garcia makes it into the credits.

Yeah, but NCIS killed off one of its hot chicks and replaced her with a contender for Hottest Chick Evah! You can never tell.

But not till the end of the second season.

According to the “Returning Favorites” episode of TV Guide:

Elle survives, but she leaves the team because she’s now afraid to be with them. She’ll be in for the first six episodes and then be replaced by a new, middle aged female

THe good folks at TWOP have supposedly solved the mytery of the unknown book.

The book is The Collector, by John Fowles. The code translation reads:
The path to the end began at his start.
To find her first calm her long-broken heart.
She sits in a window with secrets from her knight.
Is it adventure that keeps him out of her sight?

It makes sense, but how does a book written in the 1960’s “inspire many quests”?

This is me staunchly defending my idea.

Beats me. All the other stuff fits, tho. I was pretty sure it was Le Morte d’Arthur myself, til I read the TWOP thread.

I have to say, if it isn’t, I’ll be mildly pissed, just because I finally figured something out and I was wrong. :stuck_out_tongue:

[drive-by]
Draelin, are there any shows that you and I don’t both watch?
[/drive-by]

Probably Supernatural. I’m weak.

Yeah, I don’t watch that one. But … have I mentioned yet that there are only 74 hours and change until TAR10?

sigh Damn. I really thought I was right.

I got the right book with the first reference tonight. Only because John Fowles is one of my favorite novelists. As soon as the word “fowl” was uttered, I said The Collector, out loud, I guess they heard me.
Good episode.

What was that song in the end?

Was it by John Ondrasik?

I thought it was an excellent episode, particularly the scenes with Dr. Reid and his mother (like the guy doesn’t have enough to be embarassed about, now there’s a genius crazy mother). I love the way everyone in the show plays an equal part. They don’t just focus on one character.

Did you notice they’ve added Garcia to the opening credits?

Because we Tivo, we usually fast forward right through the credits, but we watched them this week to see if Garcia made it up front. I’m glad. I like Garcia.

That was “The Riddle,” by Five for Fighting.
