Criteria for determining if a woman is "high maintenance"

She’s not being given a hard time about wanting to put on some mascara and lip gloss–she’s being given a hard time about keeping a whole group of hungry people who have shit to get done waiting while she does a wardrobe change and makeup. That’s not taking pride in your appearance, that’s being a pure-D pain in the ass.

And that, imo, is the real definition of high maintenance–someone who thinks nothing of being a pure-D pain in your ass to get what they want. That can take a lot of forms, but that’s the heart of it.

You know what - if people have plans to go out at time X and Mary isn’t ready at time X and keeps people waiting for 20 minutes she’s a pain in the ass.

If people spring the idea of going out on Mary and she wants to take a few moments to get herself together and people are bitching and moaning about how they’re hungry, and they don’t want to wait and boo hoo, then THEY’RE the pain in the ass.

Example: this is an exercise that I do with 17-21 year old women. I’ve done it over the course of 10 years with maybe a 1000 women so far from over 5 different countries.

What do you expect from 17-21 year olds? The majority have too little experience in life to understand themselves or their needs/wants.

As far as high maintenance - I am not the girl that can toss on a ball cap & leave the house. Never have been. I asked my SO if it bothered him that he had to wait for me to get ready before we go anywhere - it doesn’t.

That being said, I make enough money to buy all my own makeup, clothes, handbags, shoes - whatever. I also pay for the majority of the house note, all the utilities and pay for my car. With enough left over to contribute to any ‘fun stuff’ such as dinner or drinks out –

High Maintenance? I think not -
