Crop and print

I have been trying to crop and print a photo that was sent to me via hotmail. Using Microsoft photo gallery, the crop options is greyed out. Is there a way to crop and print a photo that was emailed to me?

Can you open the file in Paint? If so, you can use the rectangle tool to select the part you want to keep, copy it, then paste it into a blank Paint file.

Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher all have reasonably capable cropping tools as well.

ETA: You have actually downloaded the image to your hard drive, right? If you just selected “view in photo gallery” or whatever, you probably can’t crop it because it isn’t “really” downloaded, but you’re just looking at a tmp file.
