Crossed out text

How do you post “crossed out” text? (I.e. text with a line through it.) I’ve seen this before in posts here, but I don’t find a vb code for it.

{del}like this{/del}

just replace the squiggly brackets with square ones: [del]like this[/del]

“del” in brackets before, & with a slash after.

{del}amigo{/del}

[del]like this[/del]

[del]amigo[/del]

If you see a post and want to know how the poster coded it, just hit “reply” to the post and you’ll see. Try it on post #5 or 6 here.

[noparse][del]so like this then?[/del][/noparse]:smiley:

This [del]zombie[/del] post is six years old. [del]BRAIIIIIINNNNNSSSSS[/del]

[del]Who gives a flying f..k? [/del]

[del]BFD!!![/del]

So what!?!?!

No big deal. I thought it amusing that John Mace replied to Frylock’s OP six years later. I think that Frylock has probably gotten it by now.

lol.sorry just practicing!

That’s OK. You’re in the right forum for practicing. And don’t mind the zombie jokes. Zombies are what we call several year old threads that have been revived. It’s not a bad thing to bump an old thread. But brace yourself for the inevitable zombie jokes. Some people find them amusing, some don’t.

Zombie or no, that is very helpful advice. I don’t think I ever have thought of that, even though I see the coding all the time.

And if you want to see if something is a zombie thread, just look at the date of the first post. :smack:

I kinda like the zombie jokes, providing they’re at least a bit clever, as some are. If a zombie joke post seems to include a decent pun (topical to the thread topic), or contributes something new on-topic to the thread, then I’m good with that.

When I was a kiddie, I got non-stop jokes about my last name, but it was almost always the same two obvious ones, and that got old. On the rare occasion that someone came up with something original, I could appreciate that. Same with zombie jokes.

Now, I want to know if there’s a BBcode to make a zombie thread.

Do zombies eat their popcorn with their fingers?

No, they eat them separately!

Just trying to get it right with zombie jokes. :smiley:
