I’ve gotten my hands on SG Atlantis at last. I’ve already watched the first seven seasons of SG1.
My question is What’s the chronology of the seasons? At what point should I set SG1 aside and watch the first season of Atlantis for everything to make sense?
I noticed several references in SG1 seasons 8 and beyond (last time I watched them all through) to ships and events that I assume feature in Atlantis.
Any fans out there who can suggest a viewing order without spoiling things?

Pretty much right where you’re at. The finding of the ZPM to send a mission to Atlantis takes place after the season finale of Season 7. From that point, the season’s march hand in hand. So season 1 of Stargate:Atlantis = Season 8 of Stargate:SG-1. Enjoy!
They did a pretty good job of tying the two galaxies together so I would recommend wathcing them in chronological order interspersed.
The only change I would make would be to get the movie Ark of Truth and watch that at the end of S10 and before ///deleted to avoid a spoiler///
