CSET English test: wish me luck!

I know I’m a lurker here, but I read all y’all regularly. I’ve decided to drop out of the tech field and become a high school English teacher, because, really, I’m at that point in my life where I feel compelled to slash my earning potential by 2/3 while doubling my workload, because it’s just the right thing to do. Well, it’s much more complicated than that, but the best defense is to be jaded and humorous, right?

Anyway, tomorrow I have the English subject competency test, and as a novel procrastination technique I’ve decided to hang around on the dope for the afternoon. My brain is full. Any last minute advice from those who have already jumped through this hoop is much appreciated, and otherwise I’ll collect best wishes too, and pull those out of my pocket tomorrow as needed!

Good luck!

Remember: don’t sleep on your side, because if you do, the knowledge will drain out of your lower ear.

Don’t sleep on your stomach, either – it’ll all drain out through your nose.

Good luck!

Congrats on deciding to teach. I can’t imagine doing anything else, and can only hope that the US will some day get its priorities in order and fund education.

Remember – I after E, except after C, or when sounding like “A,” or …

Good luck! And thanks – teachers are the ones manning the gates against the barbarian hordes, as far as I’m concerned.

Sorry I missed this yesterday, but sending lucky thoughts your way now.
