My husband thinks Bell’s partner is the one who shot him, not Sophia. We’ll see next week.
From what I could tell of the shootout, it was completely justified. And where is Ecklie, the PR hound? Why isn’t he out in front of the cameras, explaining what happened and that the cops did not shoot that boy, but the suspect did?
I do, too, mostly because of the hanky panky with the dead man’s gun. The cop may have pulled a switch to make it look like the dead man shot his partner.
I also wondered why the cops didn’t play up the bicycle theft. (And next week, they should indicate that the bicycle was found in the hotel room.)
Hell, I didn’t even recognize him at first glance. When he said, “So don’t get caught picking your nose,” I was thinking Who’s the smartass with the moustache? But admittedly I was knitting, so my eyes weren’t riveted on the screen.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that the bicycle kid’s father, the barrio businessman, was in the blue Buick. You heard it here first! And if I’m wrong, forget I said anything.
Can someone fill me in on the time between the first commercial break (when Brass and Sophia are told to come downtown after the shooting) and about half way in? We had a minor emergency (cat fell off the refrigerator and used claws on A’s face to stop himself) and missed it.
Hm, I think something was going on between the cop and his dead parnter, but I dont think he ganked him… I somehow thing that the lady cop did it in combat-rage without realizing it.
I noticed the bike in the hotel room when they arrested the guy … and I think something fishy is up with the father of the dead kid also.
:smack: It was Thursday! I missed it anyone want to give me a quick synopsis, since it sounds like its a two parter. I’d hate to be lost next week.
Thanks…
As soon as I saw him, I shot an email off to my best friend, containing nothing but “What the hell is that THING on Nick’s face???” That needs to go.
I don’t think Sophia shot Bell, either. I think it’s a deliberate mislead. There’s something up with his partner, we got a lot of shifty-eyes from that guy last night. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that the kid’s father was in the Buick, but I hadn’t come up with that myself yet.
I have to add that I so totally adore Greg. I always have, but I have to make sure the Greg-love spreads.
No subtitles, but I think it was pretty obvious…Cops bad, gun-totin’ bad guys good.
There’s not much to recap…Buick Regal is signalled to pull over for a traffic violation, Caprice whips in between Regal and cop car, AK-47s start firing, Regal gets away. In the end, one rookie cop dead (perhaps by friendly fire) three bad guys shot dead, the one bad guy who got away shot a teenager for his bike. The teenager happens to be the son of the local wealthy Hispanic businessman who still lives in the projects. He holds a press conference blaming the cops for their “unwarranted, unsafe, bad driving through our neighborhood,” etc etc. Brass and Sophia, because they killed the bad guys, now have to give statements to IA. When we left the CSI guys, they were investigating the shooting, trying to figure out if the rookie cop (Bell) was killed by a cop or by the thousands of bullets flying from the AK-47s, and who was driving the Regal that got away and why the Caprice whipped in to protect them.
To be complete, the wealthy hispanic guy who’s son was shot, and bike was stolen, was blaming the cops in no uncertain terms for the son’s shooting… meaning he said the cops shot him…
The bike is later recovered in the motel room of the “one that got away” and he is shot (in the chest) as they are leading him to the squad car. (… to be continued)
The LVPD is also being sued for “wrongful death” of one of the bad guys… claiming hte PD “delayed treatment” for a wound to the leg… a wound that was fatal (clipped the artery), but not immediately so (or even apparently so).
Hey, yeah, that confused me. I wasn’t paying too much attention the first few minutes–I thought Brass shot that guy, but then didn’t a later version show the uniformed cop shoot him? Or is that one of the big inconsistencies we’re supposed to be figuring out?
From what I saw (I wasn’t paying much attention) they were just yelling at the CSIs and any cop that walked by “Why did you kill them?!” and things like that. Nothing important. The woman with the children was asking Sarah why the cops were shooting at the house.
As I remember, the uniform cop had the bad guy cornered with his hands up without a gun. The cop turned when he heard Brass coming up behind him. When he looked back, the bad guy had the gun in one of his hands but was not pointing it at the uniform cop. Uniform almostly immediately drops the bad guy. Bad guy drops the gun as he falls. Brass then kicks the gun away.
The lady cop did shoot and kill the other bad guy who did have a gun pointed at an another uniform cop. We learned later that this bad guy’s gun was jammed by a lucky bullet shot. This is the gun that was picked up by mistake by the flustered uniform.
