Better to work for, yes. Better for the department? Maybe not. It would suck if my check was lighter because my boss was incompetant (COL increase).
I’ve always thought Grissom was attracted to the way way intelligent woman. Lady Heather, that forensic anthropologist who could reconstruct faces from skulls and who identified an unknown body as that of a gorilla. Sorry, Sara, but I don’t think you’re sexily brainy enough. Grissom likes the independent, I-don’t-need-you-but-damn-if-I-don’t-have-an-IQ-over-150 type.
According to my CSI Companion book, Sara attended Harvard for a year, but missing the west coast, transferred to UC Berkley and got a degree in theoretical physics, graduating at the top of her class. It also says she attended graduate school, but not where. CBS.com said she attended Harvard for four years.
So while there is confusion of her actual backstory, she attended prestegious schools and graduated with honors. So she is extremely intelligent.
The campanion (and the show I believe) make mention of Sara meeting Grissom at one of his lectures, and him being so impressed by her that he decided to keep in touch. She is in LV because Grissom asked her to be.
But yes there was definite sexual tension between him and Lady Heather (many assume they had sex) and also forensic anthropologist Teri Miller.
Sara is also extremely independent. She spend time in foster care because her mother killer her abusive father.
I know it sounds like I am arguing but I just really think that Grissom and Sara have a thing.
I’m not denying Sara has a thing for Grissom. I just don’t think she’s confident enough in herself to attract him. I think he goes for the woman who is not needy in the least. And I think Sara is needy.
Sara asked Grissom out in Season 3. He said no, but it’s been speculated that it is because he is scared - the " I don’t know what to do about this." It’s him that has the problem with being too shy to be with her. If you saw the episode ‘Butterflied’ in season 4, with the doctor that supposedly killed his nurse girlfriend (that looked a lot like Sara), Grissom basically confesses to the doctor that he cannot let himself be with Sara even though he wants to, because he is scared he will lose everything if she leaves him.
Sara is needy, but so is Grissom. What does he really have besides his job? He’s an enigma, but no one is really close to him.
I’ll also point out that in “Butterflies” Sara was apparently standing on the other side of the glass during Grissom’s speech and may have heard the whole thing.
He never came out and named Sara, IIRC. He danced around the “younger woman older man” thing, and devoting everything to your work to the exclusion of everything else.
She was a CSI in San Francisco, and was brought to LV (at Grissom’s request) in the second episode after the newbie CSI was killed.
This season has been incredibly dull with only a couple of exceptions. This week was one of them.
I miss the multiple storylines. With the single storylines, it might as well be another Law & Order show.
They’re completely insane. I don’t know how else to put it; denying the attraction between Grisson and Sara is like denying that the USS Enterprise in “Star Trek” is a spaceship, or denying that Bugs Bunny is a rabbit.
It’s impossible to watch Grissom’s speech to Kyle Secor in the episide “Butterflied,” with Sara watching, and not conclude that he’s talking about her. Her attraction to him is demonstrated in at least half a dozen episodes.
I don’t sense that they’re attracted to each other in the same way, mind you; there’s a young woman-older man thing there, for sure.
Yeah, but they initially met at a lecture. He brought her in to do the investigation on Warrick about Holly’s death because he knew she would be imparital and do a good job.
Sara’s thing for Grissom is sometimes written off as hero worship, but I think it goes deeper than that. Remeber when she brushed “chalk” off his face when they were ripping up the place to find a body? And I think it’s him that has the problem with the age thing - he probably feels like he isn’t good enough for her and he is too old.
And his line in the episode about the hockey players when he is talking about beauty, and Sara asked “Since when do you care about beauty?” and he replies, “Since I met you.”
So there is definitely something - just not sure if the writers will ever let it get anywhere. But lots of fans I know are dying for it.
I don’t think the age thing is the only problem Grissom has with the idea of getting together with Sara. There is also that whole, Supervisor/Worker problem. Most places frown on that kind of thing.
