CSI - Grissom and Sidle

I haven’t been watching this season and while watching a rerun yesterday realized that last season there was something of a cliffhanger with these two possibly getting together. What happenned?

Last season’s finale ended with a scene where Grissom is laying on a bed talking about death and how he’d like to know beforehand that he was dying so he could say goodbye to his loved one. Sara walks out of a bathroom, in a silk robe, kneels before him on the bed and says, “I’m not ready to say goodbye.” He smiles.

There have been many monents over the seasons hinting as to some sort of thing between these two. Looks, comments, etc. There have been more than usual this season. It’s insinuated that they have been in a relationship for some time, but it has not been said where/how it started and there have been no real super obvious moments like a kiss, hug, etc. One epiosde this season however, had Sara telling Grissom she wouldn’t “wait up” when he was in his office reading after shift. But if you watch the show you can see many moments over the years.

I got into this show heavily when I realized there was something going on with these two. I love these two characters and see the connection. I love the little moments the writers throw in. They never give us much, but the stuff they do give us are pieces of a puzzle I hope they will complete. We’ll all just have to wait and see if we get a reveal to how they got to together, how long it’s been, whether anyone else knows, etc. Some people don’t like their relationship but it’s done with great subletly and it makes sense at least to me, so I love it. There are messageboards and websites and ton of fanfiction dedicated to the Grissom/Sara relationship so a lot of people are into it.

There was an episode a few years ago where Sara pretty much laid it on the line and propositioned him, but he turned her down. Sometime later, he realized he did like her, but couldn’t deal with the emotions that came with it and asked her to wait while he sorted out his feelings.
She said something to the effect of, “Okay, maybe, but I might not be available when you are.” That seemed to be the end of it until the end of last season, when you saw them together and the implication was that they’d been together for a while.
And they’re keeping the relationship a secret from everyone else - he brought her lunch one day and she just happened to be in the breakroom with Catherine. She (Catherine) made a joke about it, but they acted like it was nothing.

As I recall, Grissom has always been impressed by Sara’s forensic ability and offered her a post in the Vegas lab.

There was an CSI episode where a husband was accused of domestic violence, culminating in killing his wife and dumping the body, wrapped in cloth. This really upset Sara.
Grissom showed (from the insects found) when the body was dumped, but the husband had an alibi for that time.
So Grissom decided to wrap an animal the same way and see if insects came later than expected. He waited up all night, and Sara unexpectedly brought him coffee and sat gratefully with him.

I always wanted to see more of Lady Heather ( ), and I assume in one episode Grissom spent a night with her.

He was dealing with his hearing loss when Sara asked him to dinner along with his feelings. And if you’re talking about the veggie burger scene this season, it was Warrick and he replied “Soy sorry” to him when Warrick asked where his lunch was.

I am a bit of a fangirl when it comes to these two. Me = dork.

I bow to your fangirl dorkiness.

Was it the episode with the victim who looked strikingly like Sara that he realized he had feelings for her? The one who was found slashed in the shower and had a thing for butterflies?

Another bit that happened this season…

Grissom walks into the lab where the radio is turned to some metal and WAY LOUD… he turns it off, starts yelling at Greg (Greg and Sarah are in the lab together) about how he had told him to turn it down in the past… Sarah speaks up that it was her that had turned it on and was listening to it… Grissom has a little bit of a confused look and says “oh”, and leaves…

**CSI - Grissom and Sidle
What the … !!! **

Great combo of title and username.

I don’t watch the show on a regular basis but I have to say I never saw the chemistry between these two.

That episode was “Butterflied” and was the episode that got me into the whole Grissom/Sara thing. It’s a great episode - I love when the whole team works on one case together.

Spoiler for episode mentioned above. It was on TV a few years ago but in case someone hasn’t seen it and would like to - spoilered for your safety, because it’s just a great episode and you should watch it.

Grissom is speaking to the supposed killer (Dr. Lurie) at the end about “men like us - we only touch other people when we’re wearing our latex gloves” and how that “a girl came along, someone we could really care about” and how having said girl could cost them their career. Grissom says “I couldn’t do it, but you did.” He does not know Sara is on the other side of the two-way mirror. But yeah he was obsessed with that case, working triple shift without eating, etc. But I think he’s always liked her - he did ask her to come to Vegas and there were many moments between the first season and the fourth (when Butterflied aired) that give hints. But it is not definitive when they got together. They have been dancing around it since the show started. But I mean, you see him envisioning Sara at the crime scene and him as the doctor. It’s obvious there is SOMETHING there. Last season’s finale just made it more obvious.

This season on the episode ‘Double Cross’ with the murder in the church, Grissom and Sara are looking at the corpse and talking about religion. Sara says something against Catholicism or religion or something, then apoligizes to him because he is/was Catholic. “Did I offend you?” and he replies with an easy “No dear.” He doesn’t call Catherine dear…
