Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

Cricket brisk?? don’t be daft man.

I kid you not I would rather watch a coffin warp than watch a cricket match which is only marginally less boring than rounders, sorry, baseball:D

Once again I’m outta here.

Now there’s a paradoxical statement: “Once again I’m outta here.”

What’s paradoxical about it, I’ve been before, I left, I came back, I went.

I’m here again and I’m outta here once more…I may return though

Well, using that logic, each of us is outta here as soon as we hit submit. And then we come back. And then we hit submit again, and hence are outta here again. Kind of marginalizes the power of the words “outta here,” no?

Well DAN methinks you are being a little pedantic here but I understand what you mean. Sooooooo I never really was outta here apart from when I went and even then I wasn’t because I was in another forum so I hadn’t really gone because I never left.

I’m definitely going now 'cos I’m logging off but I’ll still be here but not there…right?

I’m not just being pedantic; I’m being uberpedantic!

Besides, why would you come into a thread simply to say you’re not interested in the topic of the thread?

Back on topic… Second Inning and Cubs are up by 4!!! Yeah!

Well DAN I didn’t come to the site for the express purpose of saying I’m not interested I came because as I said I was at Wrigley Field last year and altho’ I was less than impressed with baseball I was VERY impressed with Chicago. I thought it was a great city and very much enjoyed my stay there and the many visits I made to the numerous Art Galleries, Field Museum, Shed Aquarium etc.

Well that is fantastic spogga, but I would have to agree with dantheman. With a title relating to baseball, I think it is safe to say that this thread should be about baseball. Your comments were unneccessary. I am happy that you had such a jolly good time in Chicago, guvnah, but don’t give one or two shits that you were at Wrigley last year and that you disliked dreary old baseball. So do your best to stay on topic, and i just hope that we can both move on with our lives. That is all I have to say about that. Feel free to respond to my post, but I consider this matter closed.

Way to go Sammy!

Whoops. 9-8 Marlins. I have to admit, I’ve jumped thoroughly onto the Florida bandwagon. I love these guys. That series with San Francisco was one of the best I’ve ever seen.

And Pudge! My God. Every game, including this one, he’s making the big plays. Clutch RBI, clutch baserunning, clutch holding onto the ball. Geez. If he keeps this up, I think he’ll be getting a World Series MVP.

I’m disappointed the Cubs lost, but holy crap that was a hell of a game.

Yes, one hell of a game! Never give up, Cubs fans! Long series… Prior… Wood… You guys’ll do fine!

Almost! (one out between in the third inning)

I gotta agree with Cervaise on this. If the rest of the games are anything like this one, we are in for one heck of a series.

Best sports night of my life.

It’s 1:46, and I just walked back in the door. My voice is completely shot.

The highlights were the electricity in the bottom of the first, the stunned silence after the three homers from Florida. The 7th inning stretch, when we sang Take Me Out To The Ballgame was INCREDIBLE. It was LOUD.

And when Sammy tied it up, the eruption was unbelievable. I’m in goosebumps writing this thinking about it. And, to better the mere fact that I saw it…I’ve got him, mid-swing, as the ball is coming off the bat. I just hope I had the resolution turned all the way up, because it’s a great shot.

Staggering highs, earthshattering lows…tonight was what baseball is all about. What a wonderful game.

In spite of the high scores, defense was the difference. The Marlins’ Gonzalez made some outstanding plays at short, while Grudzielanek juggled the ball in his tag attempt and rush for the DP. If it weren’t for that error, the Marlins would have lost the game on Sosa’s homer.

I look for pitchers’ duels in the next two games.

Comcast doesn’t carry WGN here. So I don’t know who broadcasts the Cubs game on TV or on radio. Can someone tell me the broadcasters’ names, and now I’ll go watch the 2d game. Hopefully, with a better result.

Fox has both games tonight.

Actually, here one is on Fox proper and the other is on FX. Which is cool - they’re not showing half the country one game on Fox and the other half the other game.

They just said, one game on Fox, one on Fx.
