Culture shock and reunion adventures: it's the MMP!

Drae - I’m glad you got there safely - Just be careful with those brownies and for goodness sake don’t try to bring any of them home. (But if you could manage to squeeze a few thru the CD drive, that’d be okay  )
I think I shall put Amsterdam at the top of my Europe dream trip list. It’ll be a long time before I can afford to go, financially and physically, but I do intend to go at some point

Took my first civil service test on Saturday. It was easy-peasy. I was the first person of the nearly sixty folks there to finish. I generally do finish tests very quickly. Now I have to take several more in order to qualify for all the jobs I would be able to do. You have to take different tests for different jobs. I need to take–lemme think–four more for all the jobs. We’re not permitted to take more than one test each time unless we can get a special exception. So, considering how far I must go to take these tests, I am going to be pestering some people in Baton Rouge by phone this coming week to see if they’ll make an exception for me. I am not at all sanguine about it, though. In two weeks, the results should be here, but as my SDMB membership also expires in two weeks and I really can’t spare the funds to renew it till I actually get a job again, y’all will have to wait to find out what I got.
