CNN has reported it as a factual news story. Fox News, of course, is frothing at the mouth about it – “last and only popular CNN anchor sacked …” etc.

Suspending him indefinitely right after the release of documents wasn’t a good sign. But what was the new revelation that brought him down? We already knew he was actively coaching his brother.
It could have just been they wanted to not just pop off and fire him. There’s not harm in taking a week to review the situation, make sure there isn’t something you missed.
Yeah, apparently they had some third party lawyer reviewing the docs and the lawyer must have uncovered enough to can him.
There’s no way he wasn’t getting fired over this. But you don’t ascend to this media tier without a really, really good contract. Seems likely to me the suspension was just to buy time to go through whatever steps were mandated (investigation, confirmation, review, escalation, blah blah blah). Doesn’t matter the transgression, skip those steps and you get a lawsuit. That it happened this fast can be read as their concluding “this is airtight.”
Apparently the firing isn’t over just the ‘misled viewers about the extent of his work for his brother’ issue, but also about multiple allegations of sexual misconduct:

No, these are new accusations of sexual misconduct, seperate from the old accusations of sexual misconduct already levied against him.

If CNN has copies of new allegations then why aren’t we seeing it.
They have no obligation to share this with the public. And I can think of reasons they might not want to.
