The one good thing that could come out of this is that the stench of Cuomo will linger on that obnoxious phrase “my truth,” and render it unusable forevermore.
When one of the world’s most serious problems is propaganda that tries to convince people that ‘truth cannot be determined,’ that “my truth” construction is a luxury we can’t afford.*
- Say, instead, “my perception” or “my viewpoint,” or anything else that doesn’t imply that truth is individual and unknowable. Sure, everything is subjective, but even so: facts remain. Such as the fact that Andrew Cuomo is a sleaze.
