If you’re trying to sell the most, #2. If you want to make fewer people happier (novelty factor is key in bake sales), #1.
The chocolate buttercream frosting is really chocolately. I’m worried that it would be too rich if I used it on a chocolate cupcake.

I’d get one of each, but agree that #2 sounds damn irresistible.
#1 fits in nicely with the holiday season.
I’d take #2 because I have such a thing for vanilla icing. You leave cake with vanilla icing alone and with me and it ends up naked!

The book is Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, and I can’t recommend it enough. Besides the three that I’m mulling over for the bake sale, I’ve made apple cider cupcakes and german chocolate frosting and so far there’s not a dud in the bunch!
