Wow. I… I ummm.. I cannot fucking stand her. Nothing about her is obviously, inherently offensive. But I simply despise her. No deep reason. Just a gut reaction. Sorry to piss on the love parade.

Dem’s fightin words!
All hail Larissa!
I had to work tonight. How much did she win?Did she get the $8000 daily double right?
My wife loves her too. Wierd that she seems to have captured a following. Although… she earned a nickname at our house, which is a little… unfortunate.
Which is to say that her last two shows she came back from behind in double jeopardy to catch up. (In this last show she needed Final Jeopardy to take the lead). My wife, watching her catchup said, “She’s like Seabiscuit, she has to fall behind and feel the competition before she takes over!”
So, Larissa is now Seabiscuit. At least for tonight. It’s maybe a little too unflattering to keep around.
There is something oddly captivating about her. She just seems so damn calm, and, at least early on, she really just seemsto get ahead in a ‘slow and steady wins the race’ kind of way. I wouldn’t have even guessed that she was winning before checking the scores. Very Sarah Vowell-esque.
Did anyone see the part on Friday where she said her husband was on the show once. Unfortunately, he was up against Ken Jennings.
She’s just so cute and smart and soft spoken and cuuutttee! I hope she beats Jennings’ record. I’d love to see them go up against each other but I’d hate it if he won. Especially if it were by some stroke of luck.

It’s been mentioned on the Jeopardy discussion board that her sister has been on the show as well.
Don’t know if she wasn’t married at the time, or if she uses a different last name than her husband, but none of Ken Jennings’ opponents had the last name “Kelly”.
Edit: Actually, that might not be true…it looks like j-archive is missing 20 of Jennings’ games.
She’s very soft-spoken, but I was surprised she was the only one who got tonight’s FJ question.
In 2005, the World Health Organization appropriately stopped hiring people who did this.
I knew the correct answer smoke but one guy didn’t even hazard a guess and the other lady said execute, like there’s a lot of professional executioners applying for jobs at WHO.
We’re glad she won, although I’m not sure what was up with that bobby pin in her hair.

I thought she looked a little tired tonight. I’m sure someone here could tell us how many shows they tape in one day.
Five. And if they’re still following the procedures they used when I was on in 1991, Monday’s is the first show taped.
About tonight’s FJ question, was anyone else confused and misled by the category, “Demographics”? I suppose that smokers are a demographic group, but I was trying to think of ethnic groups, nationalities, and things like that, that would fit the question.

What happened?Had to work again. Sounds like she won.

She entered FJ in second place, about $200 below the closest challenger (16,800/17,000, IIRC), and she was the only one with the correct response. This gives her five days and $179,797. After four games she already held the record for highest total won by a woman on Jeopardy!.
According to this blog, “Jeopardy! insiders are saying Larissa will be around for a while. Exactly how long is unknown, but for now she seems to be on a roll.”
Whether Larissa lasts as long as Jennings or doesn’t, I’m enjoying her run, and will be rooting for it to go on a while.
I imagine having already won a pile can make it less stressful. So what if I bet it all on an enigmatic FJ category and lose all of today’s 16,000? I already have $100k I didn’t have last week.
She was fairly well matched in the show that aired on Monday. To me that’s more enjoyable to watch than if she had just run both boards.
All the good-looking women on Jeopardy are married.
Yeah. She’s not a ravishing beauty, but she’s very cute and she seems sweet. I like them that way.
Unfortunately, now that she has all those winnings, she probably wouldn’t pick me, even if she were to leave her #@#& hubby.
