Cute or creepy?

I still don’t get why people think it’s creepy (esp. the ‘not my neighbors’ comment). ISTM that people think it’s creepy because he took her name. If the situation were different, if she was the Packer fan and said ‘I’m not changing my name, I like the Packers too much’ (or if his last name was, say, Viking) this wouldn’t even be newsworthy…even if they still had the same Packer themed wedding.
He didn’t marry her because of her name or go looking for someone with that name, it was just a coincidence that she had that name and thought it would be fun.

As for the themed reception, it was probably fun for them and most of the guests probably either enjoyed it knowing how much he/they liked the Packers or didn’t mind. Besides, other than that, if you’ve been to one wedding you’ve been to them all. They’re all pretty similar.

BTW, I was at a wedding this weekend for my cousin. His new wife is from MN. As part of way his way of showing how welcome their new son-in-law was, the father of the bride wore a cheesehead for part of his speech…which then seemed to get passed around a bit for the rest of the night.

I know a part owner. Are they still publicly traded? He had one share.

I think you are missing this part, quoted from the guy himself.

And her last name — it was like a thunderbolt for me. Her last name was just the flashing neon sign saying, “This is the one!”

So he decided she was the one to marry because of her last name.

It does tend to take a lot more than that to get from that point to marriage.

As of now it’s just a “Meh” in my book. It will get creepy if they start naming babies “Lambeau Field Packer”, “Curly Vince Packer”, “Aaron Starr Packer” or other such foolishness.
