just found out that after waiting 2 weeks for the sears dryer repairman to fix the heating element (weve been trying to air dry everything ) he called in sick and isn’t going to be here until the sixth .
this is the last warranty were going to have I don’t think we should renew since what once took 2 days to get a fix now takes weeks …
We’ve been toying with the idea of getting a new TV for a couple of years. Ours was one of the first flat-screens and the picture isn’t so great anymore, compared to the new models we’ve been eying. But it still works fine and we couldn’t justify replacing it.
My husband checked out some of the Cyber Monday deals and found a great price on a Sony 49" TV, so we bit the bullet and purchased it. Besides being a better device, it has good speakers and we can dump the separate audiophile speakers we’ve been using with our old set.
Pot roast with N.O.T. and carrots turned out nummy! Baby lima beans and cornbread were the sides. Is cornbread a side? Maybe that should be a MMP topic. Apple pie (I picked one up at the sto’ whilst out and about today) and ice cream for later. Also I have chikin’ and rice simmerin’ away on the stove. I figure that will be a “soft food” I can eat.
Went back to irk today and made headway on catching up enough for month end. Other than that, vaccuuming is done, clothes in the dryer and dishes washed. Such is my life.
The kiddie nativity pageant in the park was adorable. With a heathen-tolerable level of speechifying by the clergy. The crowd of a couple hundred helped the kids sing old standbys like “Oh come all ye faithful” while some poor long suffering music teacher banged out the melody on a portable keyboard.
A fine cheap dinner was had afterwards at a little Greek lunch counter sort of joint nearby. Mom & Dad Spriropopopopolis don’t spik english real good, but damn can they cook. And they’re sweet folks. Enjoyed a fine lamb souvlaki with all the usual accessories and washed down with a Mythras. The ladies had tasty simple meals as well.
The wind had died down since mid-afternoon, we were a bit inland, and I had switched to long pants. So it was plenty warm outdoors for the pageant and for our meal. Much better than our chilly lunch.
Home, a smidgen of TV, and now to bed. Yawn. Snurf.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 38 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 75 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today is dentist day. My appointment is at ten-thirty this mornin’. OYKW is my chauffeur for the day. He took a day off to do this, bless his heart in the good way. I may or may not post after it’s over dependin’ on how I feel. I am not sure how coherent I will be, not that non-coherency has ever stopped me before.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed its last solid foodstuffs for a few days. Then at some point I shall purtify. Rah.
What kinda dentistin’ ya gettin’ swampy? I’m assuming it’s not a boring cleaning since that doesn’t usually affect coherency. On the other hand, you are an elderly geezer…
At the risk of jinxing it, I’ve had 3 full nights in a row of uninterrupted sleep!!! So, this is what it feels like to be rested?!?
Another very busy day ahead - I may have to work Firday to get all caught up. We shall see.
Long since up & eyeballs are appropriately jigglin’. Food next. Thus far the dreaded irk has stayed dormant. One hopes this lasts.
'Twas a lovely sunrise and now 77 on the way to 79 with a few puffy clouds here and there. The breeze breezes breezily.
This afternoon I get to take aged MIL to a follow-up doctor’s appointment nearby. Nothing serious. Afterwards we’ll probably join my wife for an early bird dinner someplace nice that’ll also be a belated birthday event for wife. Assuming irk remains at bay.
Made the decision today that I am going to vacation in China in Jun-Jul 2018. Been wanting to do it for many years, but things aligned for 2018 to be the date. Still deciding if I want to do a cruise on the Yangtze River or spend three days in Hong Kong, but definitely going.
That momentous decision arrived at, I still need to finish fixing my toilet, as the main one is now acting up slightly (have to hold the handle down for most of the flush cycle).
swampy, hope everything gone well at the Dentists; but remember what D.D. S. really stands for: Dey Died Screaming
flyboy, I coached 4-5 year old girls soccer this fall; kids can be great healers of grumpiness, which I have in abundance. Hope MIL is routine.
Midget, I do all my Xmas shopping at one place, with cash, and in about 20 minutes (depending on the line). But since it not the last minute yet…
I get to have gum surgery today. Lucky me huh? Got a week of stitches and soreness to look forward to, but I also get pain meds so it all works out. Matter of fact I just took the first of some meds for the surgery itself, a Demerol. I get more when I get there plus whatever else plus I assume Novocain. This is why I might or might not post anymore today.
Howdy all. Posting from my gate at the airport in ATL. I only had to use one sky train, one elevator, six escalators and a plane train. Should have used the moving sidewalk just for the hell of it. ATL is a huge airport. I am ridiculously early but better than late. Mayhap I shall see if I can find a $16 Bloody Mary.
I can’t wait to get home and see my hubs and Lucky Louie and even the cat.
There was frost this morning at my sister’s house in NW Jawja.
All in all though the weather has been perfectly full like. Nice change from 85F.
