On the news this morning, there were predictions that this will be the biggest on-line shopping day EVAH!!! Will you be clogging Teh Intrarwebz with your rampant consumerism?
I won’t.
Happy Moanday!!

Happy Moanday!!
First!
Second! (Juvenility continues)
No rampant consumerism from me either, I can’t be bothered. Didn’t exactly bother with the Friday stuff either although I did order a game on the Steam sale on Thursday 'cos blokie wants it for hexmas. Other than that, there’s nothing I want or need so no point clogging up Teh Intertoobz with anything other than cat piccies and music recommendations.
In other news, I have less than 2K words left to write to finish NaNoWriMo this year. I see a win in my future!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 33 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 68 and N.O.S. for the day. Plans for the day include gettin’ the oil changed in twuck, possibly helpin’ out at the soup kitchen, spiffin’ up da cave even though it’s not too bad, and makin’ a pot roast on which to sup. I think I just might do the roast in a dutch oven on top of the stove instead of the slow cooker. As for Cyber Monday, I’ve done all the buyin’ of stuff to give as gifts so I have no plans to be a consumer today. I want a new laptop and a new phone but I can always find good deals on both throughout the year and don’t just have to have either right now.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I suppose I should also purtify before goin’ about the public.
Happy Moanday Y’all!
I timed out in my edit & wasn’t doing cut & paste on my phone.
I wonder why Cyber Moanday is still a thing given that it started when most of us still had dial-up at home & waited until Moanday when we collectively went to irk with their faster connections. Given most of us can now sit in the park with an even faster connection on our phones than we had at irk those dozen or so years ago.
That being said, I’m ordering something I wanted, that was on sale for Black Friday but I’ve procrastinated on ordering & the sale ends tonight.
I ordered a fwew things over the weekend, but only was was an official Cyber Monday purchase. My tree is up and has 5 ornaments on it. It’s sunny and the supposed high is 60 so I don’t exactly feel like it’s tree decorating weather. I have other Christmas stuff around the house though. Not much going on today except irk. I’m back to Meatless Moandays so tonight will be cheese pierogi with either sauteed cabbage or mushrooms/onions/sour cream.
Up on a cool & partly cloudy 70-ish degree morning. Presently too-well-coffeed and planning to feed right after I [Submit].
No cyber Mondaying for me. At least not deliberately. I may suddenly decide I need a whatsis, but it won’t be because of any marketer’s efforts.
I have several administrative tasks I blew off last week. That dumb stuff that takes 30 minutes to do but only after I’ve spent 45 minutes spread over a week remembering and procrastinating and remembering and … :smack: ! If I could magically fix one thing in my psyche it might be this.
Good luck to all you irkers out there. Today’s the last day of a stay-at-home vacation for me.
Other than a couple eBay bids I am 90% sure I won’t win, nothing. Working in “the biz” these days I usually don’t shop much online - not that I ever really did. If I’m buying something special for someone I like to have that personal memory of looking someone in the face and saying “I like that, I’ll take it”.
Other than that its supposed to warm up to nearly 50 and more important a lot of the fallen leaves are off the road so it may be a Sportie Day for work. I’m still rolling that around my brain but that is my leaning right now. Yesterdays double left me a little tired but the body is snapping back fast enough to want a little fun.
Probably not? Who knows? Decisive, is me.
Evenin’ all.
Having a bit of a frustrating day; the afternoon class today was awful, with the tutor making a series of really basic mistakes while trying to teach an intro to inheritance, varying from the :dubious: right through to the :eek::smack:
He’s actually leaving next week, this was his final class, or I may actually have raised a complaint with the course leader, but I feel very sorry for those who were actually trying to learn from that, because it was full of nonsense. Even his slides had bits that he was staring at in bewilderment, and he wrote them, from simple stuff like reading out 1/4 as ‘One to four’ when it clearly meant ‘one quarter’ through sentences that made no sense.
I could honestly have taught it better. He’s been OK til now, but that was plain weird.
I intend to order something I want.
Got an email blast from the HS, titled ‘Middle School teacher’; what a sad commentary that I was ‘relieved’ to see that it was about a teacher who passed away over the weekend rather than one who was arrested for sleeping w/ a student & or doing/selling drugs in school, which was my first thought from the subject line. :o
I’ve only gotten three emails, so far, reminding me that tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. With all the races I’ve done, I’ll be inundated tomorrow. While many/most/all of them are worthwhile charities, some of them are from an out-of-state race I did three or four years ago. If I’m going to give to that cause, I’m going to do it where it benefits my community.
Busy morning - I worked 30 minutes past my usual stop-for-lunch time. I had to run to JoAnne’s for some yarn so I can finish my shades-of-orange afghan - fortunately, they had one skein of the color I needed. Thank goodness for no-dye-lot yarn! Checkout took an age - one register went down and the manager (?) was slow to open a second. But I got what I needed, so there’s that.
After, I drove thru BK to get lunch. It’s now sitting like a lump in my gut. Oh well…
Back to the mess on my desk. It’s a very frustrating and confusing drawing - I pity the kid who has to check it when I’m done. I feel as if it would have been faster to do it from scratch than to revise an old drawing that’s been rolled over for a gazillion projects. Still, it all pays the same.
Definitely a Moanday!
I refuse to go to JoAnn’s for anything. I swear the cashiers are sloths in disguise.
Probably not. There is one thing I want, and it’s pretty expensive, but I’m just not seeing it on sale anywhere. I’ll look again today, but I don’t expect any joy.
Speaking of which: I really hate businesses that advertise “Big Sale!!!” and then the stuff I’m looking at is the same price it’s always been, or maybe 2% off.
“Cyber Monday” deals just don’t seem all that ‘dealy’ these days.
I will have to go to the store today though. I’m out of coffee creamer! The horror!
Wifey puts mocha mix in her coffee, but to me it’s pretty tasteless.
Tom Ka was good last night, but still didn’t taste like the good Thai place’s Tom Ka.
Happy first day back at work to all of you working people. grins
I got twuck’s oil changed, helped out at St. Clare’s, vacuumed and dusted the livin’, dinin’, and master bed rooms, kind of cleaned the master bath (don’t think anybody would catch any major disease from bein’ in there), and have a pot roast on the stove in a cast iron dutch oven. I have been a bzzzzzy bear today! Go Me!
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) took a fancy to a black line blenny we saw, so I purchased him. Turns out they are venomous.
Like Mrs. Plant V1.0and/or V2.0?
Quite day, slept in and outside of procuring lunch and buying bread and pens, not much going on. A 420 mile drive on Sunday was enough effort.
Had a good time at Brothers’, they’ve remodeled the house and I tried to pick up some ideas since I’m looking to do my in 2018/19. But five adults, three bassets, and a English Mastiff can make for a crowded room. But still nice, and got to see Hidden Figures, which was just as good a movie as I have been told.
As the end of the normal office work day approaches, 100% of my administrative crap remains unstarted much less finished. At least the mail person didn’t bring any more.
After my wife finished yoga we bought subs at the local shop & took them to the beach for a gray & breezy picnic followed by a gray and breezy walk on the shore. The air was a “brisk” 79F while the water was 81F. Brrr. Had hot tea when we got home.
This evening my SIL’s mongo RC church is putting on a kiddie Christmas pageant. They call it a “living nativity”. As a heathen myself this is all new to me but ought to be adorable as only massed 5 year-olds can be. So off we go.
Probably find a suitable dinner & restorative drinks afterwards for all three of us.
You’d die in our office - it was 71° most of the day!!!
**WetOne **- I’m not a fan of JoAnn’s, but it was the closest yarn retailer to my office. I didn’t have the time to drive to WalMart or Michael’s, and I didn’t want to go there after work due to gawd-awful traffic. I just wanted my yarn.
Time to throw something together for supper.
so far Friday and Monday has been a bust except for xbox one games I think the only crowed places were the 6 game stops we have in the antelope valey …its gray and were having out usual gale force winds …
