Cyberpunk 2077 release discussion

Yes, you have to go the opposite way of the yellow-dotted-line near the end of the mission.

Hah, I saved him without even really trying to. I was more surprised to learn that most people didn’t. In the epilogue, he records a message essentially telling you to get bent (presumably for not working to assist/save the company)

Upcoming patch is pretty huge. “Eyes glaze over trying to read the patch notes” huge. Lots of bug fixes and a few additional improvements including better driving controls.

I’m downloading a 33.6 GB patch so I think that’s the big one.

How much of the PS4 and Xbox One base models are fixed? I played on PC and did not have that many game-destroying patches, but I heard those folks could barely get through the game at times.

Having said that, I saw a PS4 base youtube play and it didn’t seem to be as bad as the rumors said.

Amusingly, the one mission-hurting bug I ran into isn’t on the fix list (unless I picked the wrong search terms).

If you’re doing one of the Perez missions and investigate the roof before fully investigating the penthouse interior, it breaks the mission objective updates and won’t properly give you the next part. You can work around it but it’s a pain. I didn’t see it listed under “roof” or “Perez” but I don’t remember the mission names, etc.

It started out 33.6 and it’s now saying 42.27 GB. This is the patcher on the GOG client.

ETA: Then it said “failed” and it’s 33.6 again. My WAG is that the patch servers are getting slammed here.

I played on the standard xbox one and it was perfectly fine. No game-destroying anything. It definitely needs polish though. Texture pop in was noticeable but it didn’t bother me at all.

I played on a gaming laptop and could see textures loading, but they did load almost instantly. I was OK with that just to get a decent frame-rate going. When I was indoors, it played fine.

I’ve actually been playing, I have a desktop machine built for gaming with some pretty good specs. It automatically put everything at the Ultra level but I noticed some serious performance issues moving around so I dropped it to High. Everything still looks gorgeous, every once in a rare while I see a texture take a moment to load when I’m outside but otherwise it’s smooth. Also I think it has only crashed once in more than 17h of gameplay so it’s pretty stable.

I played on a lower-end PC and had no outright crashes in 30+ hours of gameplay. Just weird glitches and stuff.

I had hard crashes every 4 hours or so. Which I find to be totally acceptable as it’s like its telling me to stand up and take a break I didn’t realize I needed. Fallout 4 crashed like once every 90 minutes or so, which was right on the limit of unplayable. At least when I was doing a survival play through and couldn’t save at will.

I had a single side-quest left to complete, “Getting Warmer”. Previously it had been bugged: I never got the call from Wakako. After 1.2, it’s still bugged: I get the call, and I can pick up the coolant, but can’t actually use it. Sigh.

Interesting. I think I was on patch 1.04 or 1.06 when I played that mission. I vaguely remember getting a menu option to use the coolant; don’t recall how fiddly it was to get it to pop up.

Lol in-between diablo 1 and some of the worse parts of starcraft, so idk 95? Haha

FWIW the latest Cyberpunk patch has released. It seems they focused on improving console performance and did little to fix gameplay problems. The patch is not being well received.

My WAG is they want back on the Playstation store and have ignored most other things apart from some bug fixes in favor of that.

It’s not!

However, I ended up playing it awhile ago and it was definitely playable on PC.

Yup, I didn’t find any more bugs than usual on PC. Granted they’d had some major patches out by the time I played. But I only saw a couple of glitches and crashes

I had no crashes, but visual glitches were more than I’ve experience in a major commercial release, at least more than I’ve seen in a very long time. Had I read absolutely nothing about this game’s glitches, I would have noticed that it was massively glitchy.

I saw people floating in the road, people riding invisible motorcycles, and several other flukes all over the place.

Honestly, though, even with all of that, it was entirely playable and I am sure I went hours without seeing anything glitchy and over the course of 40+ hours, I mainly remember it being a fun game. Not anywhere near as good as Witcher 3, but a decent game.

It went back on the PS4 store today, but looks like it contains a warning encouraging people to play on a PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience.

The footage I saw of PS4 base always looked OK, but I will admit I barely watched it on that system. Was it so catastrophic?
