Um, your e-mail is blocked - how do I contact you?
As per ‘Character Development - Non Weapon Proficiencies’, you get another ‘slot’ every 3 levels (i.e. at 4th , 7th etc).
So a 4th level character has 2 bonus NWPs, plus 5 slots to allocate.
Sorry, no trade-off between the two skill types.
PH + UA are fine. I don’t use any others.
Glad to see this shaping up!
It seems a bad time for me to begin another game, but if there’s still a slot open next week when I’m off vacation, I might easily be interested in joining in, most likely as a Druid. Let me know!
Well provided there’s still a slot open when you get back, there will be no problem fitting you in (even if the adventure’s started…)
P.S. You can’t have too many Druids in the party (come to think of it, you can’t have too many Fighters either  )
Currently the party (and likely characters) consists of:
What Exit? Druid (Human)
**Paladud ** Paladin (Human)
Fluiddruid Fighter (Lizardman)
Malacandra Illusionist / Thief (Gnome)
NAF1138 Cleric (Human)
Wolfman Ocean Barbarian (Human)
with ArrMatey! and then appleciders showing interest.
Provided real life doesn’t interfere*, I want to complete first Malacandra and then Fluiddruid’s character descriptions today.
*in order of likelihood: work, storms, power cut, winning a big prize on Premium Bonds, being invited to make a cameo appearence on CSI…
Ooh! I was expecting to find this all full up. Or maybe it is and I can’t count.
My schedule is better at the moment for playing something like this, and I miss 1st ed! I’m sure I can think of something clever to play…
Just look at my time stamp…
I had a busy day at work, but the rest of today is clear. So If I get 8 hours sleep and spend the afternoon on this, I will definitely finish some characters…
ArrMatey! is ahead of you (as player 7), but appleciders is not definite (and is already in game 1).
So you are player 8 (we’re full!) and I will send you the files when I wake up
We still have no wizard… although it would be interesting to see someone play glee’s interpretation of the monk.
ArrMatey! is considering a Magic User type.
The Warrior Monk is a Fighter version of the 1st edition Monk, i.e. it’s not a Thief.
So the party (and likely characters) at present consists of:
What Exit? Druid (Human)
Paladud Paladin (Human)
Fluiddruid Fighter (Lizardman)
Malacandra Illusionist / Thief (Gnome)
NAF1138 Cleric (Human)
Wolfman Ocean Barbarian (Human)
ArrMatey! Magic User?
Little Plastic Ninja ?
appleciders is likely to be our standby
I have just finished the Gnome Illusionist / Thief and will e-mail it now.
Thanks for waiting - now I’ve got an Internet Character Template*, the other characters should follow smoothly, so send me your descriptions.
The more you tell me, the more I can tailor the character’s abilities to suit you!
I’ve tried to put all the basic character information on just two sides of A4, and will send anything else (spell descriptions, new classes) by e-mail.
*why yes, I am a nerdy chess playing programmer!
So you are player 8 (we’re full!) and I will send you the files when I wake up…
…Little Plastic Ninja, your e-mail is blocked, so send me an e-mail and I’ll reply with the files.

Life? What would I want with one of them?
Sorry, but the spell explanations are taking longer than I thought. Gygax had a wonderful imagination, but his maths skills left something to be desired…
One small idea for a player, one massive typing job for a DM…
More characters and files will be sent today…
Fluiddruid now has a complete character, and I’m starting on What Exit?'s Druid next.
*gnome happy dance
Something about that sentence just looks odd.
It’s taken a while - and I now have copies of files in:
- Word 2007
- Word 2003
- notepad
- rich text
- recovered format
:smack:
My e-mail and private message boxes are fuller than ever…
…but it’s all been worth it!
I’ve got a few characters and concepts in mind – what do we really need? I love playing thieves and clerics, but it sounds like we have both.
I’m thinking Human Ranger or Elf Thief – an itinerant peddler, possibly recently relieved of horse and wagon by bandits and looking to shake the rust off the ol’ sword to get the business back.
I recommend a Human Ranger.
Loads of hit points, tracking skills, bonus damage v orc-kind.
The likely party would then be 4 Warriors, 2 Healers, 2 casters and 1 Scout.
