I live in South Jersey (this happened in Camden). Just heard on the news that the child’s grandmother spoke to the media; Grandma says that the woman with the baby was a babysitter, and the man was the sitter’s boyfriend. Not the parents.
What’s that saying? “Stupidity is not illegal?”

if the kid lived? Sure. If the kid died or wound up institutionalized? Not so much.
