John Ross & Christopher are grown up and in charge of Ewing oil. I guess that JR & Bobby will be in the “guidance” role that Jock was in the original series where he was semi-retired (Except JR will probably be on the lookout for crafty ways of the boys getting around him, as he did to Jock). With a team of decent writers, the possibilities are endless- John Ross & Christopher were already showing personality traits from their respective fathers toward the end of the series.
I fully realize that my ManCard[sup]TM[/sup] may be suspended temporarily, but I’m stoked.
I predict this is going to die a quick death like every other show they tried to bring back from the 80s (and beyond), e.g. Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Knight Rider, etc. The fact is, the only reason anybody ever watched that shit is because at the time there were essentially only 3 channels.
But I could be wrong.
Nitpick: I’m not sure how well the 90210 revival on the CW is doing lately, but I wouldn’t say that it died ‘a quick death.’ And the original was reasonably close to the 80s.
I know it will suck but I’m watching anyway. Bring on the shame.
Larry Hagman will be 80 yrs old later this year, and I don’t think he is in good health. I can’t imagine that the story lines will be centered towards J.R.
Yes, I will be watching. I got hooked on the show as I had a former girlfriend who would not go out on Fridays until Dallas was over.
Last I remember, Cliff was running Ewing Oil and he has a daughter (with Afton), so I would guess that there will be some young beautiful blonde playing the daughter. As a foil to John Ross/Christopher and/or a love-interest.
There will be have to be story line around Pam, whether or not Victoria Principal returns. VP has not had an acting credit on IMDB in nearly 10 years.
What’s next? Falcon Crest?
Nitpick: This does not sound like a “reboot.” It’s a continuation of the original series. A reboot is when the series goes back to square one with the original characters and starts over.
Well, I’ve* heard* that shoulderpads for women are on the way back in!
I had read that they have been trying to make a Dallas feature film for a number of years… is that project dead?
Yep. That is a nitpick.
Original link doesn’t work.
How can JR come back? He committed suicide in the Series finale of Dallas???
It was revealed in one of the TV movies that he had actually shot at a mirror.
