I’m not so on board that the bride still needed to occur. It seems a stretch to me, and remains a confusing point.
And I can’t rationalize the logistics of Patty changing her mind at the last minute either. Her plan must have been to save Ellen prior to her going into Ellen’s apartment. Maybe she didn’t know about the gun? Or was simply confident that Ellen wouldn’t shoot her?
Patty had Pell on tape saying that he could make the investigation go away and he said he could get her info about Aricite but he didn’t really cop to any criminal activity. I’m sure the tape could hurt Pell but it hardly seemed solid enough to prosecute him. The bribe seemed like the only way to flip the FBI agent to testify against Pell.
If the tape is enough by itself to get Pell, then I absolutely agree, the bribe is superfluous.
:smack:Sorry, I rambled my way through that first post. I think you’re right, Patty had to have planned to save Ellen from the beginning. I just thought it would be cooler if she’d changed her mind when Ellen showed her the “feds here” sign - I was trying to work out if that was a possible interpretation.
Unfortunately, Patty would have had to contact Tom after meeting with Ellen and she hardly looked healthy enough to manage that.
Solving that query just produces another though; if we conclude that Patty planned all along to save Ellen, I’m curious about Patty’s motivations for doing so.
