Damages, the popular F/X legal thriller starring Glenn Close, returns tonight for Season 3.
I’m excited! I know it lost a lot of the magic with the second season but I still really enjoyed S2 and I’m looking forward to this one.

Commercial-free premier, love those! I have DVR so I know that it’s profoundly lazy of me to resent fast-forwarding commercials but there you go. 
I thought it was a great first ep. Gonna throw the rest in spoiler boxes for those who haven’t watched yet.[spoiler]Ellen has lighter hair to go with her bevy of facial expressions - she gets more than one this season! I liked watching Ellen talk tough with the dealer’s lawyer but I’m a little disappointed that she’s not the one who hired the thugs.
Patty is still intriguingly and creepily obsessed with Ellen. What’s with the ugly handbag of doom? Does it come equipped w/ tracking/recording equipment? Is Patty courting, that bag holds as much and costs more than a U-haul after all. Is Patty just getting revenge making Ellen carry a profoundly ugly piece of baggage!?
I can’t decide if I give a shit about the case this season. I don’t like Tobin Jr., he’s a candy ass and boring - seriously, if you beat someone up in the first ep and still come off as a candy ass, your ass be sugar-coated. I really like Lily Tomlin though and I hope we get to see a lot more of her.
Keith Carradine pops up all over my t.v. these days and happy as I always am to see him I just wanted to scream at the screen, “Run Keith! Run! It’s got big teeth!”

Where is Wes? I was all set to be sad but Wikipedia has him listed in the S3 cast. Here’s hoping he’s in more than just flashbacks.[/spoiler]
