Damn, it's hot here!

I really can’t remember the last time it was below 100 degrees during the day. I am trying to cook on the grill and can’t stand to be outside for more than five minutes at a time. My cite is The Weather Channel (Zip 75460).
My front lawn has damn near died. I am watering every night and hate having to go outside when it is still 90 degrees at 10 pm.
Anybody in the Southern Hemisphere want to share stories of the cold you are getting please share.

It’s 91 right now outside. . . it’s 2:50 am!!!

Thanks, Bear, but I am trying to forget the temperature extremes of Iraq. Hell, I remember when it was 10 during the day. I really do feel for you though. Stay Army Strong.

Where is here?

It’s about 11C here at the moment. Temperatures have picked up a few degrees over the last few days as we move out of July (our coldest month) into August. I won’t say that we’ve definitely seen the last of winter, but the days are getting noticeably longer and you can now smell spring in the air.

I thought reminding you of that would make you feel better. Perspective and all that…

I know in the future, no matter how hot it ever gets, I will always smile knowing I’m not in Iraq!

And yea, it was pretty freakin cold here too. Who knew that it snows in Iraq?!?!?!
Snow and Orange trees Do. Not. Mix!!!

I knew you had to be in Texas! I am so sick of the heat. Try looking at the temps for 78664. Monday it is supposed to be a balmy 105.
I applaud you for even attempting to grill out. I quit using the grill in the middle of June!

Let’s see…Friday it was 111F here.

Right now it’s 10:18PM and still 95F outside.

Get offa my (brown) lawn!

This kind of thing is part of the reason why I moved from Dallas to NYC. Every so often I call my parents to tell them about how we had a high of 86 degrees or about how I haven’t turned on my AC yet that day.

Our projected THIs for the week, the Feels Likes, are 113, 89, 106, 103 and 105. The 89 is for when TS Edouard comes through. It’s supposed to run near over us with 6- 8" of rain and 50 mph winds. So much for everything in moderation.

Other than nearly daily thunderstorms that include traffic-stopping downpours with hail and smallish tornadoes, we’ve been having a pretty nice summer here temperature-wise in southern Saskatchewan. At 4 pm today it is 24 degrees celsius (75 F). The forecast for the balance of the week peaks at 28 (81) tomorrow and bottoms out at 21 (70 F) for Friday. We’ve had very few hot days despite a long range (14 day) forecast that continues to say we’re going to be in for sauna-like weather, and that continues to be moved back timewise. Just yesteray the forecast for the August 16/17 weekend was 39 (somewhere around 105), now it’s 33 (low 90s). I am really hoping that doesn’t happen since we’re experiencing, for us, really high humidity, and man, I hate hot weather.

I’m not far from you brother. It’s pretty bad when the air conditioner can’t keep it below 80. It’s times like these I wish I had a summer house in Alaska.

So you think it’s hot where you are, eh?

Batten down the hatches, Lieu - it’s gonna be a gullywasher.

Feels like it’s about 95° and it’s after 9:00 pm. C’mon rain…

Preach it.

On the other hand, I just got back from a weekend at about 10,000 feet in Colorado. It was mostly in the 80s, and I heard a few of the locals complain about the heat. The temperature was comfortable enough…but I’ll live with the heat if it means I can get enough air.

We had 4 days in July with no rain.

Fuck!

Right. Supposed to be in the 80s tomorrow around Houston. But of course that’ll be in the middle of a tropical storm…

Ahhhh. I love where I live now.

I don’t even have AC in my house. And I don’t need it. Highs in the high 70s-low 80s, lows in the mid-to-low 40s. No humidity. Actually, we could use a bit more humidity, it’s fire season, but it sure feels great without it. “So, has it gotten hot enough for you yet?” I was asked a couple of weeks ago. I still don’t know how I didn’t start laughing hysterically. Hot? I’ve lived in Texas. Georgia. Louisiana. I know from hot. This ain’t it.

Mmm. Mountains. 5800 feet. I love it.

Snailboy, babygirl’s surgeon is in Longview. She had the operation done at Good Shepard. Nice community you got there. But, yeah, no relief from the heat for you either. If you ever get about 70 miles north, I will get you an iced tea from Chicken Express. (The best sweet tea in Paris, IMO.)

I added another proud member of worldwide travellers who cannot believe the heat in Georgia. Africa joined Costa Rica and Egypt in being utterly dumbfounded and aghast at the weather here.

It has rained non stop today…I would love to have some good weather!
