Damn Storm Woke Me Up

Loud thunder and such.

So tired.

Welcome to my world.

I’m beginning to think that NW Georgia is the thunderstorm capital of the world. They usually roll in anytime from late afternoon to about 02:30 and last for several hours. As an added bonus, the next day you get to break out the chainsaw and carve up the fallen trees.

Anyone wanna buy a house?

Wait it out an’ go back to sleep, Major.

We get them almost every day, Carcosa, AND we have a dog who has bad storm phobia. He’s a sweetie, but he’s a bit of a pain.

It’s not a good idea to be online during storms. I am very paranoid about lightning, I unplug my computer. I did just BUY the computer, though, which might be part of my paranoia!

I’ve been roused from blissful slumber several times in the last week. Once, it was thunder so loud it nearly literally scared the crap out of me – at five in the morning. Yay.

Been there, done that. I especially love when the electricity goes out, and I’m stuck in my hot house with the windows closed, no ceiling fans and no AC.

The one by me hit just before 4AM and was a solid hour plus of lightning and thunder. No pauses. It was the coolest good ol’ Midwest US thunderstorm I’ve ever been in and sure to kill Brits, Seattlites, and other people unaccustomed to REAL weather.

Halfway through it, as the lightning bolts crashed around me (literally), I realized my computer was still on. No damage!

AAHHH!!!

whew

I thought he said ‘Strom’.

I had visions of being haunted by the ghost of ol’ Strom Thurmond.
