You can’t buy cats on ebay.
Oh well, next idea.

Well, instead of “next idea”, why not roll with that idea? Since you’ve proved that there is a market of at least one person for online bidding and sales of cats, you can start up C-Bay (or K-Bay, P-Bay, E-Spay, whatever ya wanna call it…)
It wouldn’t work. I’d want to keep all the merchandise.
So you’re going to go to the animal shelter now, right?
Seems to be that you should be able to come by a nice cat for free. I know lots of people who have brought home strays, answered those ‘free to good home’ ads, or gotten leads from their friends or vets.
I have several cats who need good homes. If you really want a cat or three, drop me an email. Transportation may even be arranged…

Well, if I did find a cat on ebay I wouldn’t buy it because it would be too much hastle (I guess I’d probably have to pick it up in person). I just searched out of curiosity (there are weird things on ebay).
Not that I would not like a cat or few (or kittens, preferably). The problem with that is, I don’t own the house I live in, and the owner won’t get one because he’s afraid of the sadness when it dies. My personal view is that the joy of owning a cat way outweighs the sadness of losing it. But the house owner’s decision stands.
So I will remain cat-less until I get a house of my own.
The reason they don’t sell cats on Ebay is 'cause they’re just so darned hard to wrap for shipping.
It isn’t so much the wrapping. It’s when it comes time to let them out of the bag.
Perhaps a FedEx tube. I mean, I’d poke holes in it, though. I’m not cruel.
Shrinkwrap?
I second the ‘Free to good home’ ad idea.
My fluffy Ralf was gotten from a ‘free to good home’ ad, and in the nick of time too. The poor cat had been locked into a tiny bathroom for months, and was in general treated horribly by the previous family.
Thankfully they recognized that they were not fit to keep him and put up a free to good home ad, and so he became my pretty kitty, from 1985 until his death in 1994.
And they will not stay still on the postal scale.

Because eBay can’t risk sending a cat into a place where the locals will whack its tail off…
