Origin of: You see this was the 1st non-specialized MB I had posted to, at several others I was known or the subject did not lead itself to flames, etc. So, one of my names being Daniel, and figuring I was going to be eaten alive- I thought of DINlionsD, but that was way too Biblical, and lions is not the way I would categorize this board. Then I was going to do DINjackalsD, ie, me surrounded by yapping jackals/scavengers, etc, etc. But that was a bit mean. However, my favorite animal is wolves, so I went with that.
Somebody please email poor ellen (?) so she can read this and sleep at night.

I’ve always been curious, and have seen the question asked a few times without seeing an answer. Do you happen to know where you answered this, just so I can see if I was an idiot, or simply missed the entire thread. Anyways, I appreciate the explanation. I’ve mentioned my screen name origin a few times (water is the first 5 letters of my last name, j is my first initial, I was the second person in such circumstances at RPI when they assigned me my ID), and know the minor annoyance of having to explain such little minor details.
By the way, did we (the SDMB community) live up to your expectations?
This query was asked in a thread where I am trying to starve out a troll, thus here. But it had been asked before, so I figured it was one of those minor niggling things a lot a folks wanted to know, ie a MPSIMS.
And, water, to a large extent I think the SDMB folks are some of the nicest, most intelligent people I have been privliged to “cross words with”. There are a few exceptions, but since this is not the PIT, I’ll just say good things about you folks. And you guys mostly deserve them. And that includes you, too, yosemite.
