That’s my read on it based on the Night One commute.
Well, we have three votes for sangfroid. Time for dusk, don’tcha think?
It occurs to me, storywise, it would be better to take out Karl first, and then leave Hans Gruber to the end. Oh, well.
Yeah, I was pretty sure I’d wake up dead. It’s not a big loss for us, since my power was used up anyway.
Go Town! Kill those bad guys! And thank you for a fun, creative game, Dante!
No problem, Tomba. At least Riggs put up a good fight.
sangfroid, even though we’re lynching you, I have to commend you. You played scum the same exact way you played town.
Unless I’ve misunderstood the rules, the day ends at 1pm on Friday, and the majority is needed for success. The day doesn’t end when we hit the threshold. I’m glad it didn’t end early, since we’re in danger of being led astray by HookerChemical and losing the game. Hooker played smart and beat me to the punch, and I see you guys have decided I’m next. Please reconsider that vote.
The scum team is clearly Hooker and Sangfroid, so in the meantime, I agree with the current lynch. I don’t see a scenario that possibly makes sense involving a fake power claim, so I’m glad I don’t need to worry about that, once we account for Dante’s color (which, it turns out, DID mention my character, albeit obliquely. Unfortunately, it applies to Hooker’s claimed name too. :smack:)
Consider: hooker does not vote for Mosier on Day 1, mentioning that he doesn’t need to worry about “seeming town.” This put us into the no-lynch, which was bad for town. Hooker even mentioned that Mosier was “still his number 1 target,” but didn’t want to lynch him. We just got lucky with the stopped kill, which (thanks, Prof P!) saved me, unless scum just didn’t feel like killing anybody (yes, I know I could be the scum killer. This is my hypothetical, and I know I’m not). My death would have made us suspicious of Mosier. Either way, scum would have gotten what they wanted… After mislynching Mosier, we lose, or if we assume he’s town and turn elsewhere, we buy Hooker as town as well.
Hooker points this out to us, riding the townie cred in multiple posts. His actions were bad for town when he made them, and he’s using information obtained after the fact to justify his actions before he could have known they were right. Lynching Mosier on Day 1 would have been the right call, and there’s no right situation where your number 1 target shouldn’t be voted for. Since Sangfroid is clearly the other scum (I think it’s funny he doesn’t appear to be trying to fight this at all so far, which removes all doubt in my mind that I’m wrong), his throwaway vote did double duty as an attempt to distance himself from his scum buddy, and in future days could point to that vote as more evidence of towniness if Sangfroid ever got lynched. Granted, this also applies to me, so you’ll need to decide which of our actions makes more sense from a town perspective.
Consider also: in post #360, he accepts that whoever was protected was town (it doesn’t occur to him that we might have blocked the killer instead of protected a townie, which makes me suspect perfect information syndrome; his scum team targeted me, and didn’t succeed, therefore I was protected). There’s also some very nice fishing going on there. In my experience, the scum kill is assigned to the team as a whole, and stopped by a doctor, which we have. I’ve played in games where the scum kill had to be “performed” by a scum member, but that’s been much less common. Perhaps the fact that we have a follower indicates the killer can be tracked, but that doesn’t help me convince you guys you’re wrong about me, so forget that :D. If that’s PIS, Hooker has inadvertently indicated the scum team does NOT have to choose a member to make the kill with this post, regardless of the color.
If any of our claimed powers have somehow managed to trick us all, my hat is off to you. You deserve the win.
Anyway, VOTE SANGFROID.
Hooker, I really hope you’re next.
Well, if I’m as toasted as it appears, I must say - in *this *game, things are never as they seem. Dante has crafted an interesting scenario, to be sure.
Nothing I could possibly post would do any good at this point, so I’m not going to waste anyone’s time with that.
Just beware. Danger lurks around every corner. Sometimes, good is bad, right is wrong, and the cops are in collusion with the enemy.
A good Action Hero sifts it all out, usually after taking a heavy beating, and rises to the occasion.
The bad guys don’t always walk around twirling their mustaches and petting their overweight cats…
Dammit, you just spoiled my next narrative. Now I got to change it.
Astral, if sangfroid turns out to be Karl, then we will definitely reconsider our options.
Fingers crossed, then!
Because I am dumb and missed that aspect.
Well, you can’t ask for a more honest answer than that!
As a clarification, I thought my actions might LOOK scummy (late unvote, not joining in what others thought was a decent lynch). In practice, they weren’t scummy, but we couldn’t be sure until Mosier flipped town. He pinged my scumdar at about a 2 out of 10, which I don’t think is good enough for a lynch. We didn’t lose a townie, we gained information on the votes, and we would get information from the night actions (which went amazingly well). The unvote was absolutely the right town move, though it took a bit of luck to make it work out as well as it did. We gained a ton of information from the Night One result and didn’t lose anybody. It was a town home run.
MOD NOTE / VOTE COUNT
Sangfroid -** 4 **(Hooker Chemical,Mahaloth,Prof. Pepperwinkle,Astral Rejection)
3 votes needed for a lynch. The Day will end on Friday at 1pm EDT. There is still time for discussion, however, if nothing significant happens in the next 6-8 hours, I can go ahead and call it.
Play on, players!
And then, suddenly… Nothing Happened!
But it happened quite suddenly, mind you.
I’m not suggesting rushing the end of Day…but I am suggesting rushing the end of Day.
Sangfroid, Town or Scum, it’s you, dude. Object?
I’m in favor of rushing the day, if Sangfroid doesn’t object. Looked like he tossed in the towel, though.
I’m inclined to agree with this.
Hmmm, now how am I gonna get rid of Sangfroid?
I’d just rush it. I think we are committed to killing Sangfroid, no matter what.
Since sangfroid is obviously being bussed by the remaining scum, I think the next narrative writes itself.
