I’d have voted for a Wasp movie, if they’d asked. For reasons that continue to elude me, they did not. I have also not received any replies to my demands that they reboot Dakota North.
Well, one of of the movies that starred a blonde guy named Chris also had a woman who was black and Hispanic?
Granted in the movie she was green.
The Avengers movies too (which makes it 7 now - somehow I completely forgot Pratt). Cap and Thor count as stars in those, IMHO.
I wasn’t initially wild about the way they decided to portray Fisk (both the acting and the writing). But as the series progressed and they developed the character more I changed my mind and I now actually think it was a brilliant interpretation.
They did a great job of “show not tell” when it came to portraying Fisk as someone who suffered from anxiety, both of the social variety and just sort of a general sense of impending dread. I could really see why someone like that would want to acquire large amounts of power so he could dominate and control his environment and other people. And I could also see why someone with the violent rage issues that Fisk possessed would be attracted to trying to gain that power through criminal rather than legit methods.
I am having a hard time picturing season 2, though. Will they continue with Fisk, who is now going to be determined to kill Daredevil, or will they find a new villain to go along with Fisk?
New showrunners, as well.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring in Elektra (rumors going around that she’s the Greek gril mentioned) or Bullseye.
Hopefully they’re working for Fisk.

I know that Elektra is Greek, but is it possible his nurse friend(Rosario Dawson) will be Elektra? I know it may be wild, but I was waiting for something to be revealed about her.

Think if they were reinventing the character today she’d probably be a doctor and you wouldn’t have have the career vs. marriage meme, but she *was *invented in the early 1960’s.
I hope/imagine that bringing Fisk to trial is a recurrent subplot next season. Nelson and Murdock look to be representing Detective Hoffman, whom Fisk in turn will be looking to kill, as he’s the only witness who can testify to the full extent of Fisk’s organization. Fisk will want to hire an assassin to do that; I can think of a few candidates …
I can’t remember the name (Van something? maybe?) but the guy they mentioned who owns both the building the Fancy Party Fisk’s girl friend got poisoned in and the building Matt and Foggy’s office is in is also a Daredevil villain. i thought maybe that was a set up for a potential Season 2. Alternately, this whole season could be looked at as an origin story for both Kingpin and DD so next season could just be the two of them facing off.
I know. I keep saying, Spiderman would be perfect for an Asian male. The sense of disenfranchisement and not quite belonging would fit a young Asian male living in NYC. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Chrises, and think they are gorgeous, but ONE of those guys could have been non white. The Avengers cast is blindingly white! At least they have Black Widow.
I was wondering if season 2 might be Vanessa sort of taking up some of the reins of Fisk’s empire. She seems like she has the smarts and the know-how.
I’m really hoping they cast an Asian for Iron Fist. You wouldn’t need to change anything about his origin story, other than jettison the whole troublesome “white guy goes to foreign culture, learns to be part of that culture better than the natives” trope which desperately needs to die.
Probably not going to happen.
For one thing, Ryan Phillipe is in talks with Marvel and Netflix and most people think he’s going to be playing Danny Rand. For another, Marvel has shown no propensity to change the racial or ethnic derivations of their comic book superhero main characters in the movie versions.
Why not just bring in Shang Chai for an Asian character?
I think they hinted at that in the finale. I could see her becoming a player.
I think season 2 will be Fisk’s trial but Elektra and the Hand will be the big bads…with Bullseye thrown in there.
Except Nick Fury.
And the Mandarin.

But you’re right: probably not going to happen.
Including Fury is only a “kind of/sort of.” Nick Fury was black in the Ultimate comics from the get-go and those are going on over a decade now.
