Remember that video making the rounds a while back with the FedEx (I think it was FedEx) guy just chucking an HDTV over a fence? Yeah, great work, guys.
One time I was in the garage and heard a loud THUNK. I quickly went in and looked out through the front door just in time to see a UPS truck pull away. Going out, there was a package on the porch, yet the light dusting of snow on the sidewalk from the driveway to the porch didn’t have any footprints in it. Yep, the asshole had just chucked the package 10 feet or so. Fortunately there wasn’t anything breakable in that one (No, the snow wasn’t deep enough at the time that there was any hazard.)
Another time UPS just left the little yellow “DUR WE MISSED YOU” ticket AT THE MAILBOX instead of on the front door, and didn’t even attempt to deliver. If I hadn’t heard the truck idling and peeked out the front door, I wouldn’t have even known they’d been there. Didn’t have the key for the door handy, so I couldn’t get out there before he pulled away in a hurry.
The pick up place for UPS is way across town, with lots of bad traffic in between. When I wind up having to go there because these guys won’t do their job properly, it’s at least an hour out of my day. It’s not like I live in a bad area, there’s no reason for them not to leave stuff, and sometimes they do, but not always, and it’s completely frustrating, particularly the way they charge you up the wazoo these days.
